Rated 5 out of 5 by from light and waterproof I was looking for a rain jacket that wasn't plastic-y and I wouldn't sweat horribly in, but still worked and looked good. This hit all the right notes. I wear it just as a windbreaker and it works well for that. As to rain, I haven't worn it in torrential downpour but I've gone hiking for a couple hours in a steady rain and was quite dry and the hood is great, coming up far past the face so if you have to wear glasses like me, it helps keep even them dry, though with obvious limitations to peripheral vision.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great breathable jacket for hiking in spring rain I bought this for a backpacking trip in the Alps and I'm glad I did. When hiking in the rain, I didn't get the clammy, damp feeling from the inside of this jacket due to sweat condensing on the inside; it is very breathable material. It also has a nice liner to keep the cool outer material off your skin. The added bonus was that it made a great windbreaker when hiking at altitude and took all the rain, sleet, snow, and wind the Alps could throw at it in two weeks time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best rain jacket I've ever owned! I haven't owned a rain jacket in years, but the recent "heavy" (for California, ha) rainfall prompted me to search for one. I'm glad I decided on the Millerton jacket in the black tigrid camo design. It's a great lightweight rain jacket with excellent protection, and it doubles as a stylish windbreaker! It isn't the warmest jacket out there, but I like to be a little colder than most people. It's perfect for activities like light hikes, biking around town, and running if you happen to be in the cold or rain. I'm definitely sold on the North Face jackets and will be looking at a triclimate next.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great jacket and love the color i have , very sporty i have gotteh lots of coments on this jacket from people who are asking, where can i get one, so i told them. i own lots of north face stuff from the old sumit series parkas, which are unreal, to denallis, venture and resolve..this jacket is a bit heavier then the resolve and to me a bit lighter then the venture, and o love the way it looks and feels and the ykk zippers are always the best. at this point, with all my nf stuff, like i said lots of people in my building are digging it, so i told them where to go. quality seems top notch, no complaints and got free 2 day shipping as a bonus

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Active Fit When the jacket came, the tag said "relaxed fit" not "active fit" like it says here on the site. This made sense once I tried it on. The body of the jacket fit fine, but the sleeves were so baggy that they just looked silly. I looked like a little kid wearing my dad's jacket. Not sure if the website is wrong in labeling this item or if the jacket is just poorly made. Either way now I have to return it. No fun.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Jacket. I originally bought this jacket to use for a hiking trip to Zion National Park in Utah. It served it's purpose well through the cool days, as well as the snowy ones. Waterproof, windproof, yet somehow still breathable when the trek started to get tough. The jacket itself is stylish and light enough to wear as an everyday jacket around town. The only issues I have with it is that it seems to fit a bit short. I'm 6 feet tall and if it was an inch or two longer, the fit would have been perfect (I purchased a Medium). A couple other things that were more annoyances than anything else were: 1. Lack of hidden pockets inside the jacket. Every other North Face jacket I've owned always had a hidden zip pocket that I could stash my wallet or phone in. Not sure why they didn't add it to this model. 2. I wish they stuck with the velcro wrist straps instead of the elastic cuff. I've got really small wrists and usually love the velcro straps offered on most North Face products. Other than that, it's a great looking and functional jacket that can be worn year round.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would recommend this jacket to anyone and everyone. I love this product. It's a great all around raincoat. In warm weather it's great by itself, and when paired with a sweat shirt it can be warn year round. Can be in rain four hours without soaking through the material. Very sleek and stylish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's lit When I received this in the mail I didn't expect it to be so light. Regardless of its weight, the quality of the product stands very firm and feels durable. I have a smaller torso with an athletic body (5'7) so a small fits perfect on me with no issues what so ever. The floral print looks even better I person and I get a lot of compliments on it, I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a light rain jacket.

Questions & Answers

Is this jacket warm? I live in a windy area which can get down in the 30s sometimes during the winter. Will this jacket be beneficial during these times?

Asked by: Heath Kendrick
The Millerton does not have any insulation. It will cut the wind, but for 30° F days, multiple layers would be needed to keep warm.

Going to Alaska in July. Is this an appropriate weight? Also, what about fleece underneath it for any colder weather we encounter there?

Asked by: RichW
This is a great shell layer for your trip; layering with a fleece garment underneath will help during chilly nights. For more information on layering, we encourage you to read through the expert advice article linked below: https://www.rei.com/learn/expert-advice/layering-basics.html

How light is the jacket, is it more of a spring/summer jacket or for the fall months? Keep in mind I live in Texas.

Asked by: BearK
This jacket can be used at any time of year depending on the other layers you are wearing. It has a 2 layer waterproof fabric exterior with a taffeta inner lining for a comfortable next to skin feel. At under a pound, it is a fairly light weight jacket that is not insulated.

How is this jacket differ from the resolve 2? And should I size up to add for possible layers underneath?

Asked by: Randy
In terms of waterproofing, the Millerton and the Resolve 2 are very similar. The Millerton has an active fit which is more form fitting. The Resolve 2 has a more relaxed fit. We recommend ordering your usual jacket size even for layering.
