great for running and yoga
ran several half and full marathons in these. i also ended up doing yoga in them because the inner liner keeps me modest without having to wear underwear or tights. the inner liner is tight because it's meant to give some compression. as someone else noted, the inner liner isn't the strongest, and i tore the stitching early on but it never got worse and it still provides plenty of compression
Good enough for a second pair
I bought a second pair of these shorts. They are my favorite running shorts. I ran two marathons in my old pair, and I bought a new pair for my next marathon to treat myself. I love having the boxer-brief liner for distance runs. My only issue with them is the seems in the boxer-briefs are not the strongest. But even though they split after not that much use (an experience from my first pair), the shorts were still usable. I still run in my old pair, no problem.
Disappointed AGAIN.
I have bought at least 4 pair of the 2 in 1 shorts from Nike and I just can't seem to find a happy medium with these shorts. The first three pair ripped in the crotch area and one pair I was refunded after I sent them back. Now this most recent pair I have had maybe a month now. No crotch ripping, but they fit super tight and I bought a XXL looking for growth and comfort. When I first bough them and I received them they came out the box tight. Every time I bend over I have to pull them up because my butt is about to start showing My old the comfort level was great, but they always ripped and came apart. My new pair, super tight and the crotch area seems to have more support, but very very disappointed in them right now.
Compression portion of shorts too small or tight
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had purchased these shorts years ago and loved them. They are finally breaking down, so I needed to purchase a few new pairs. I bought a two lengths and colors, but was so surprised that I couldn't even get my leg into the inner liner compression shorts. I am 5'11" 200lbs, and I have a pretty muscular build, but these shorts should not have fit this tightly around a quad. I am so bummed because the previous pairs are the best. If they fixed the inner shorts, these shorts are a for sure home run, but til then, keep searching.

Poor fit
I have a couple of pairs of the phenom shorts from last season which have the perfect fit in my opinion. I generally wear these for weight training & hiit. This seasons shorts look great but i'm always finding myself having to constantly pull them up at the back during training as they keep working their way down. If your going to wear these shorts at the gym I suggest placing your drink bottle somewhere you don't have to bend down to get it. It's pretty annoying. I wear a medium which is a firm fit on me. The quality of the built in shorts seem to have dropped off compared to last season. This newer style has lost some of the stretch. On the positive side I'm super stoked that I managed to score the red pair which I've been waiting to see released in aus for a while now.
Great Running Shorts -- Run 1-2 Sizes Small
As many of the other reviewers indicated previously, these are great shorts but they run 1-2 sizes small. I am normally a 34 in just about every pair of pants/shorts I buy. Nike's size chart indicates that a Medium is 32-35, Large 35-38 and XL 38-43. I ordered the large initially to be safe (I have three pairs) and they were way too small. If I bent over my, ahem, crack would show. Just order the correct size based on these reviews and you will be fine. Also, these 7" shorts are a little long for me as they hang just over my knee. I'm 5'8" and I prefer the 5". This is not a fault of the product, just my personal preference. Notwithstanding the above, I would still recommend these. The compression short is comfortable and not too tight if you order the correct size. No chaffing at all.

Nike pro compression inner is great
I see people say they are small or too tight. They have compression shorts inside, they are supposed to be tight. They are great at wicking the moisture and stopping chaffing. I now have 5 pair.
Avg Runner
I liked the design and features a lot. Bought the Large size as I do with all my running shorts. Inliner was extremely tight (although I am a thin tall guy). I replaced it with the XL size; Inliner still a bit tight for my comfort on long runs, and the outer shell is now too baggy. Suspect problem with design. Thx
Great running shorts
These are very comfortable, lightweight running shorts. The compression liner is excellent.
Great short....but...
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] All around great short however be very cautious on sizing. I am 170# and wear a size 32 waist in every pant and/or workout short I own....sometimes even a 32 gives me too much room. I ordered size medium initially and the shorts were way too small/tight. Got online and had a large sent and they fit great. According to Nike, a large equates to a 35" waist.....beware of sizing. The sizing issue is the only reason I did not rate it a 5 star.
