I bought this as an attachment for my Jetboil Luna so I can use pots, pans, and mostly coffee percolators. My whole set up is the Jetboil Half Gen with the Luna jet linked to it. It definitely saves more room than using the usual 2 burner suitcase style stovetop. After the second time percolating coffee on the Luna/pot support, one of the legs is completely stuck open and another is on its way to being stuck. I love the functionality of this attachment and still, with some legs stuck open, it’s easy to store in some overlanding bins with the rest of my cooking gear. A Malfunction after 2 uses is the only reason I dropped my rating down to 3, otherwise it’s a 5.
This pot support works great to adapt the Jetboil stove for use with other cookware. Unfortunately with the MiniMo set, it does not stow inside the pot along with the fuel canister and stove. This makes for an awkward, pointy, easily bent extra piece to find room for in your kit. I bought it to use with a frying pan, and it's too tall to stow inside the pan. It would be nicer if it could fold flat, or possibly if it could fold so it would stow under the flux ring. Apparently it will stow inside the Flash pot with no problem.
It seems like a pointless little piece of metal that Jetboil is just trying to make an extra buck on but its so worth it! I didn't have one at first and I tried to use a pan on my Jetboil and melted the plastic around the rim, so that didn't work out very well. Bought one of these and let me tell you it was so worth it! If you want to cook good meals like scrambled eggs and bacon for breakfast get this product and save your Jetboil!
I can understand why some people wouldn't consider purchasing it initially but when you're needing a stable support for your jetboil stove to cook in something other than your jetboil compatible unit then you would be hard pressed not to buy this. It fits secure to the stove and has an even support for your cookware. When stowing it, it sits snugly between your fuel canister and the stove in within the cooking unit. I have had no issues with it this far.
A pretty basic pot support does it's job great and is easy to store in the jetboil. Only minus is that the movable pieces after short use are already way harder to turn.
Is very good at allowing one to use non-Jetboil brand pots. A worthwhile investment for those who wish to use something else, for instance my Stanley brand 3 liter pot.
Does the job, just think it should come with the unit to begin with.
MiniMo Owners - this does not fit in the cup or the pot, unless you modify the thing by spreading the feet open to wrap around the bottom of the Flux-Ring. It's a great fit for small cooking pots. One thing I find weird is that the feet do not fold in at all - I'm sure there's a way to figure out how to make the feet fold down... Glad it only cost $9...
Used with MSR pots and keeps the JetBoil wind protection so I can pack a pot when backpacking in a group and cooking for several. No need for two stoves when you have this. Fits on top of 100g fuel perfectly so everything is contained in the JetBoil.
I bought this to increase the versatility of the Jetboil stove, and I love the results. Packs small, fins rotate out to increase stability of item placed on top, for instance percolator coffee pot. I already loved my Jetboil stove, and this item just adds to that feeling.
