I went with the Flash 1L before I even considered using it for more than just boiling water. The pot support fits perfectly to make cooking with a pot or skillet possible. It cost me $10, worth every bit of that.
This is a fundamental design flaw. Does not support a range of pot sizes and is unstable for a pot size approximately smaller than 1.5L and greater than 2L. In practice, the design only works well with a narrow range of cookware because it provides a single effective support diameter. When the pot support flap opens, it is at 4.5” diameter; when closed, 2” diameter. (The 1.0 design would cover a range of sizes, but not this 2.0 design.) For example: this does not work for the MSR Titan 1400ml, which has a bottom diameter of 4.875”. When the support fold is in the open position, the pot rests on the extreme edge of the support surface, making it prone to sliding off unless perfectly centered. This creates an unacceptable stability and safety risk, particularly when handling boiling water. Too dangerous. When it is at the fold position, it is better, but this introduces a separate design issue. The support flaps are in the way of the burner flame, not only burnishing the support tips, but also losing efficiency. The support tips become discolored from direct flame exposure. This looks great and wanted to like this, but I would not recommend this after discovering the flaws. The design sacrifices versatility, stability, and efficiency by relying on a fixed support geometry that does not adequately accommodate common backpacking pot sizes. Disappointed.
The pot support does not support the pot. I even bought the Jet Boil skillet, but Jet Boil Pot Support has no locking mechanism and therefore minimal function. Very disappointing as Jet boil customer service has no explanation.
I bought this support to update my Jetboil and support after 5 year of use, and the pot support doesn’t have any lock on the burner, and it’s not recommended for big cooking hardware because the area of this support is smaller than the older one.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Another very cool addition to the jet oil system allows you to put a pot on top and use it for practically anything you want
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Everybody needs a little support, Great product, great price. Bought for camping and bugout bag.
Not sure what jetboil this is for but the other pot support that is orange is better built
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the new pot support, holds better than the last and looks to last a long time
It does what it’s supposed to do. Perfectly without any problems
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Makes the flash even better without losing compactness
