GUIDE SERIES 424 2 BURNER STOVE DF C001
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this camping stove! It’s so nice and it’s pretty easy to use (as someone that has never used a camping stove before). It’s easy to pack up and not hard to clean either. I love that it folds up into a closed box so it’s contained. I also like that it uses gasoline instead of propane. The draw back is that it is pretty big and kind of heavy, so it wouldn’t be easy to bring on a long hike/approach. I am still getting better at using it, I’m used to an electric stove top so this is very different and will definitely take some getting used to. I received this product for free from Coleman and Influenster in exchange for an honest review.

Perfect for disasters or car camping
I’ve had this stove now for 6 years. Like any piece of gear, you have to use it—to “practice” with it—to become skilled with it. Took this on a road trip from Alaska through Canada to Texas. Camped in the Grand Canyon with it. Used it during Hurricane Harvey. I’ve even safely used it inside the back of a Jeep Grand Cherokee with no damage to the vehicle interior. It’s a solid tool! Sure the newer ones are not made with the same sheet metal as the 40 year old ones. What is? So, yeah, mine has a small dent or two (maybe 4), but that doesn’t effect the function I anyway. The most maintenance I’ve had to do is wipe it down with a paper towel and put 2 drops of 3-in-1 Oil in the handle hinge so it didn’t creak. The 2nd burner works good. You just have to understand that it can only burn as high as the 1st burner. Meaning, #2 can be lower than #1 but not higher. Still, it belts out nearly 7,000 BTU. Plenty of heat to cook. I’ve fried sausages and sautéed onions on that burner among other things. The whole stove belts out 14,000 BTU. If you can’t cook with that, you just can’t cook. Probably not suitable for canning, but great for camping or sheltering in place during a disaster when you can’t travel and have no electricity. Even burns unleaded gas which is ubiquitous and inexpensive compared to other fuels. Obviously, too large for backpacking. A gallon of Coleman fuel is equal to 4-1/2 of the 1 lbs bottles of propane. This stove works in very cold weather better than propane and there are no little steel bottles to carry around and dispose of.
A great addition to have
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really love that this stove is lightweight and portable. Another great feature is everything fitting inside it. My family and I don't really go camping but we do go fishing and crabbing a lot so this is the perfect size for us to cook and enjoy our fresh catch.

Small but mighty stove!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] You know that winter storm a short while back that took out the power for a whole lot of people in the Midwest? Well, we caught in that and this little guy came in super handy! Not only is it compact, lightweight, and portable for camping, but it was great to have in a pinch when the power was out. It's very easy to set up and everything can be packed away into a little suitcase ready to go. The cooking space is a decent size and it was easy to clean up after we're done. I'll always keep it ready not just during camping season, but in winter too!

They're not like they used to
We wanted to replace our stove from 2006 with the exact same product. Unfortunately quality control seems to have disappeared for this product. I purchased this stove and it has flaws in its production. The lid tabs didn't stay in their slots. The burner cut out after turning the pilot down. The female part where the fuel tank stem goes in was poorly welded and uneven. Tried to exchange it, only to discover the second one of worse quality. Unfortunate, because we used the one we purchased in 2006 a ton and it never had a problem after 18 years and the brand new ones are already worse off, right out of the box.
Classic Camping Staple
You simply can't go wrong with a USA made Coleman dual fuel stove (or lantern). The people having problems with these stoves need to read the instructions.. I own 3 of these fine stoves (1 being 60 years old) and use them everytime we go camping. The burners burn very hot, and the second burner, by design, puts out less heat than the primary. My included photo is using the stove after a night of Deluge rains in Arkansas. The Coleman was left outside and totally soaked. That morning, we fired it up and cooked breakfast with absolutely no problem whatsoever.
Excellent campstove!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We waited for a cold day to try this campstove since it says it is recommended for temperatures below 40. We used it when it mid 20’s outside. It took awhile for me to get the temperature right so at first it was cooking very slowly. It’s ok since eggs aren’t meant to be cooked fast. Once the eggs were finished I turned up the heat to high for the potatoes. I learned later that I could have set the auxiliary burner to a lower temperature while the main burner was set to high. In essence, the only trouble I had was trial and error as I learn. Overall the stove works great and can fit 2 pans. One regular sized and one small size. Thanks Coleman. Can’t wait to use this on a camping trip!

Great for camping
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this complimentary for testing purposes . I'm glad I'd be able to snagged this great burner stove. It's kinda huge but still handy. I liked that It's very easy to assembled. There's a fuel tank where you can put fuel or gas which is a great thing. The fuel tank has a little valve to the side you just have to flip it up to start it then after a minute flip it back down. Then the color black knob is the control knob where you can increase the flame from hight to low you have to turn it counter clockwise. Also there's a pump to the right of the fuel tank. There's a valve to open it up. Turn it counter clockwise then pull back the plunger and shoved the plunger down a few times then light the burner. Wait 1 minute before flipping the side valve down. For the Second burner, turn it counter clockwise then light it up. It's smaller flames compare to the right side. It takes a minutes for it to boil stuff but it definitely do it's job very well to cook food especially if you are camping with family and friends. It's perfect to use outside the house aswell for frying so the house won't smell.

A great stove if you read the manual
Even though the directions are printed inside the lid, nobody ever reads them so people who haven't used this kind of stove before can never get it lit. I learned how to light it because my friend has one. There are several little knobs and valves that have to be adjusted just so in order to get the pressure right. Due to a series of local natural disasters and power outages I finally decided to just buy one of my own for emergency prepardness and for when I'm not camping with friends. Now I can take it camping or cook pancakes in the backyard when the power is out. This is a durable and functional campstove that won't let you down.
Solid New Gas Stove
Bought this as a replacement for a 1979 Coleman 425F gas stove that has served me well. Since purchase, I have used this stove 6 times including initial set-up/testing at elevations from 1000 ft to 6500 ft. It has worked 100% of the time - no problems. Set-up is easy and it works like any other Coleman liquid gas stove. The gas pump was stiff to start but after a few drops of oil and a few uses it was smooth and pumped with ease. I've seen multiple reviews about the quality not being the same as the older stoves but I have to disagree. Comparing them side by side, there's not much difference. On my new 424, the grate is configured a little differently and connects to the body differently but it works fine and detaches easier for cleaning than the older model stove. The lid on the newer stove is also attached differently but still works fine. I measured various parts and pieces side by side to see if the newer one was made of thinner, cheaper materials. The burner materials were the same thickness and same inner and outer diameters. The cooking grate thickness was the same. The stove body and wind screens were very similar in size and thickness. Stove weight was also very similar. Overall, there's not enough of a difference between the new and the old to make a difference. I've attached some side by side photos for comparison along with a short list of some of the measurements I did. I would definitely recommend this dual fuel gas stove and buy it again.
