It's the perfect kayak!
I've been using this Kayak now for about 5 years and use it mainly on rivers and some lakes. Everyone who rides with me raves on the comfort. It tracks very well compared to other kayaks and even my single, and it turns on a dime (well maybe a quarter). It's easy to load when you get the hang of it, I've loaded alone on our truck! It's a great boat and still one of my favorite purchases for myself. Oh, and I invested in a folding kayak cart and I can roll my boat to the water without any help. Another great purchase (Craigs list)!
Great for our family
We bought this during the May sale event. This is our first kayak we have ever own or used. After months of research we felt this kayak would work for our family of 4, dad, mom 1yr old and 3 yr old, to enjoy the water together. When we picked it up in the store the store associate ran us through the seat functions and other tips. We used it 6 times in the past 2 months. Holds all of us easily. Easy to paddle and maneuver, even when only one of us is paddling. Handle waves from boats in larger lake nicely. Seats are extremely comfortable. Look forward to future use as kids get bigger, and one adult moves to a single kayak. And when kids are big enough to paddle their own and we can haul more gear for longer trips. We have not tried paddling the boat in a single paddler position yet.
Stable, comfortable, fast, fun.
Got a tandem so my daughter could come out on the water. Weight is average compared to other tandems I've used. Seats are really comfortable, very adjustable. Tracks very straight and can really hustle. Surprisingly easy to turn from the rear paddling spot. I still haven't used it as a solo (seat is easy to adjust to middle position). Rear cargo hatch is small but enough to put stuff for a nice day on the water. I'm very happy with this as my first kayak.
Pamlico 135
Very nice boat - sturdy, seating system is more comfortable than a kayak probably should be. Paddles very well, tracks true, even in a 20 mph cross wind! Bought this boat for our daughter and her 150 lb dog. Front seat moves back to front, which allows her to do this. Handles much nicer than I had expected from a 70# boat. Definitely worth the extra few hundred dollar price over other available tandems.
Great boat but heavy
Have enjoyed this kayak tremendously. The reason for buying a tandem was to get my kids involved, which they have. The boat sits high in the water, has comfortable seats, is easily entered and exited, it tracks well, and has lots of space (both open and water tight. No rudder seems to be needed in still water. My only reservation is its weight. It is heavy and not easy to load and unload from the top of a mini-van.
Versatile, well built
Versatile, well built, easily handles two NFL size offensive lineman...seats and foot pegs offer multiple adjustments to find the perfect position. Used primarily on easy going rivers or minimal wave action on Lake Michigan. Not suited for rapids or heavy waves. Rear compartment allows some water in, not fully water proof despite lid sealing o-ring.
Comfort and Ease
Took this kayak out on a windey creek that was still full of debris from the storms and it performed really well getting us through everything. The seats are very comfortable on the back and padded sides are easy on the arms. Surprised how well it did in tight spots.
