Awesome!!!
This is a great HR/GPS watch, and has more functionality than I will ever use. I got the Ambit3 Peak Sapphire because I am trying to get into ultra marathons, and regular marathon running. Since I am a slow runner (6hr marathon) I need a watch that has a long battery life between charges, especially if I am going to do training days that might include a 14 mile walk. Suunto was recommended to me by an elite ultra marathon runner, when I asked if I should have multiple watches in my drop bags (other brands can't do 30 hours between charges). After a few days of researching, Sunnto is the only brand I could find that allows you to change the GPS ping rate, so you can save battery life. This watch looks really nice too, and the HR is very sensitive, I don't have to dab water on chest to make it start, like with other brands. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because of one issue. You can only enter 1 weight into the interface app. For me this is a big deal because if I am running 10 miles with no gear vs. 10 miles with a few gallons of water on my back, there is a huge difference in my performance, but no way to factor that into the data unless I just make free text comments. Customer Service was very nice and recommended I use my true weight (not gear weight), but they missed the point. It is like trying to compare a 5 mile downhill run to a 5 mile uphill run, but at least the watch can take decent and ascent into consideration, but currently it can not take "naked" weight vs. "gear" weight into account. But even with that one draw back, this watch is great, and you can sync it with your iphone or Android phone too. I highly recommend Suunto. It's a bit expensive, but worth it. (FYI: I was about to visit my parents, who live in a state with no sales tax. Tax is calculated based on ship-to address, so if you might be traveling for the holidays, you could save a lot by having this shipped to a family or friend you will be seeing soon, if they live in a sale-tax-free state).
