Great, simple and will buy again.
This probe is fantastic. I use my avy gear both recreationally and for rescue work with search and rescue. Comparing this to others I've owned or used the highlights would be the pull handle and the graduated tightener. Unlike some of the competition this won't loosen off over time. I recommend this product to all my friends and family. The only reason for 4 stars is that the numbers rub off relatively quickly with regular use. This could be a big deal for avy techs doing a lot of pits and recording. Even if BD alternated colours between sections or found a way to engrave numbers that would be fantastic. Also the aluminum version is excellent as well both are worth consideration.
Simple, Fast, Reliable! Excellent
What can you say about a probe? This one is excellent! I prefer, and am required to carry a 320 probe for ease and speed of use. Carbon makes a much more rigid probe which makes probing easier. The locking system is solid, simple and fast. It’s super light for its size. Peace of mind carrying another piece of lifesaving equipment that I can trust 100%.
Super light and fast on the draw
I looked at a few other probes and knew this would be the one to go with. It's plenty long for my needs and the quickdraw works better than any of the other more complicated mechanisms I tried. The bag it comes in has a velcro flap instead of a zipper, another selling point for me. No need to fumble with a zipper when the time comes to use it.

Light and durable
Came with the pro avi package I bought. Fits well in my pack, throws out quickly, and weights practically nothing! Highly recommended compared to any other probe I've used. I've trained with it a lot at this point and its held up with no sign of use. Clicks tight at the end and holds it while you search without loosening up.

Nice new lock
Nice probe. Deploys fast and the lock works well. I teach classes and old probes waste lots of time during rescue. The carbon is light but I hope it is stronger, not breaking a probe in a rescue is the goal. I use a 2mm cord to cut my columns for testing so the carbon is fine. If you use a cord with metal, don't get a carbon probe.
Well Built and Light Weight
I love this probe, it strikes a great balance between light weight and solid construction. Compared with the C.A.M.P. carbon probe, It's a titch heavier, but significantly more beefy. I won't think TWICE about using this probe during avy classes, whereas I had to be careful to not over-use the C.A.M.P.

When I look to buy avalncgd rescue gear my biggest priority is durability. Doesn't matter how light or fancy your gear is if you can't count on it to work when you need it most. The black diamond quick draw probes are the perfect example of simple and durable equipment that also performs. I gave had my quick draw guide 300 for over 6 years now, and it is still my go to probe. The extra lenght has allowed my to use it in many different areas, from BC to California. The durable aluminum has also held up to years of abrassion from my snow pit cord. Every season I inspect the inner cable expecting it to finally show signs of wear, but as of now it is still holding up to the abuse I put it through every day as a ski patroller and avid backcountry rider. Only way this product could be improved is be laser etching the depth marks into the probe ( my pit cord has started to wear the numbers off). I would recommend this probe to anyone as an example of a peace if simple equipment done right!

Lightweight full-length probe
Excellent draw / extension speed, very light and packable for being full-length, and durable (when stored correctly). No flaws and nothing really to improve upon!

probin
cool, think this is the best probe out there. alot of garbage probes out there that don't stay together very well. the measurements are helpful as well.
Strong and lightning fast deploy
As with the 320CM carbon probe, BD has created an extremely strong and fast to assemble probe in the 240CM length. perfect for light and fast missions.
