Rated 4 out of 5 by from High quality fenders with complicated install I really like these fenders, they look nice, feel like high quality and I believe they will last me a good long time. Installing them is a bit of a pain, however. But hopefully you only have to do it once. The bike I installed these fenders to is a 2015 Novara Randonee (size medium) with 700x32 tires. Firstly, the rear fender is meant to mount to a bar (above the rear brakes) with a hole perpendicular to the hole in my bike. This was solved by bending that piece of hardware on the rear fender by 90 degrees. This made attaching it by nut and screw a little difficult, but worked fine with enough clearance for the wheel to spin freely. Due to the range of wheels that these fenders support and the plastic hardware where the poles attach to the fender (I believe this is so the fenders do not rattle), adjusting these perfectly to your bike requires hack-sawing the struts to proper length. I don't know if this is common, but it struck me as strange, this is actually what the instructions recommend. I was able to fit my rear fender without hack-sawing, but not my front. The fenders shipped with lots of extra screws and nuts of varying length to fit a variety of frames, I thought this was very nice. In summary again, these fenders look very nice, make very little noise, appear to be durable (have not owned them long to say for sure), lightweight and had an involved installation process for me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from mixed feelings about plastic. first they look okay. really just gray-silver plastic. i dont like the small black stripes. because they accentuate the warping fenders. installing them was a 5 out of 10. not too hard, not to easy. but i did it in a poorly tooled apartment with my tools all in storage. if i could do it under such can you. i had a small set of bolt cutters and that really is the best tool for cutting the braces. just snip..done. the rough cuts can be filed smooth on the nearest concrete sidewalk. HEY, dont judge, my tools are in storage!! and just do yourself a favor and spend the $5 for a M5x0.8 tap. it really is better to clean the threads of paint and gunk before you go cross threading anything. i nailed the install. my Surly CC has horizontal dropouts in the rear..front facing, so you will have to leave big gap in the front. no helping this. i'm happy with them. but my front fender is warped badly. right from the get-go. warped so badly they rubbed on my tires. 700x28. i flexed them out of the way repeatedly and they would persistently spring back to the same warped position. the cussing was epic. i rallied and poured hot hot tap water on them, and i think i got it. i keep it clipped the opposite bend and see what i end up with in the morning. it's beer time!! i would love metal fenders but i had a tough enough time installing the flexy plastic ones. relationship. solid 3 stars.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolute garbage I've heard great things about SKS Fenders over the years but unfortunately they do not live up to all the hype. There are serious issues with their included instructions, both in terms of the written set and the illustrations. I was unable to follow them clearly and was unsure what pieces I needed, if any were missing, or if I was simply provided with a few spare pieces of hardware. The English is extremely poor and uses unconventional words and the illustrations are inaccurate and inconsistent. While there are plenty of videos and tutorials online on how to install these, it's an absolute failure on SKS' part that their included directions are so poor. Product packaging also uses misleading and non-conventional wheel sizing systems such as "28 inch" which is only called such in Germany. The "28 inch" size is the industry standard ISO 622 or 700C. Wheel sizing is confusing as it is with companies trying to market different things instead of sticking to referring things by their ISO size.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from rain fenders for my commuter sadly, these did not fit my surly straggler disc. the fenders fit fine however the connecting rods that are supposed to fit onto the fork was a complete failure. the back fender fit fine. am using planet bike speed ez fenders at the moment until i can find a more stable and permanent solution.

Will these fenders allow me to use the bike racks on Metro buses?

Asked by: InfoAlchemist
The securing arm would have to go over the front part of the front fender, crushing it against the tire. I have owned this fender previously and didn't have a huge issue with the plastic warping over the tire, as it would usually spring back into place, but if you're going to be doing it everyday they might not hold up.

Would this fit a bike with 700C x 38mm tires? If not, which model (set) will?

Asked by: Eastside Cyclist
The P45 Chromoplastic fenders can fit a bike with a 38mm tire. There is a chance that you could still get a little spray coming out the side. The Planet Bike SpeedEZ Fenders will be a better fit and protect you better from spray.

Do these work with disc brakes? I have a Redline Metro Sport with Disc Brakes, and am curious about the install. Thanks!
