Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks good, but spare mantles may be an issue I bought this lantern with my dividend as I need a bright light for my aging eyes. The Coleman product description says it uses insta-clip mantles, (and maybe it does) but when I opened the box it contained a single Chinese-lantern style mantle (#91). The mantle is 3-4" long, which explains how they get 1540Lumens out of this lantern. My propane bottle went empty right after I lit the lantern, so I did not test the brightness. The lantern was easy to assemble and appears to be sturdy and stable. My concern is with finding replacement mantles for this lantern. REI does not appear to have the #91, nor do the other logical sites I checked. Perhaps REI can respond to this concern.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Bright! I bought this exact lantern 16 years ago. It is much brighter than the dual mantle Coleman lanterns or anything I've ever seen. The run time seems great and I can find mantles at any Walmart. I also use this with a gas grill propane line/lantern stand from Coleman for back yard parties when lots of kids are using our playset at night. There isn't a better car camping lantern and after 16 years the automatic clicker lights every time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lives Up to Its Name This is my first propane lantern so I can't compare it to others, but holy heck this thing is bright - I feel like a satellite could see it burning from orbit! I used it on a 2-night camping trip and it really does a great job of illuminating the area (especially if you're afraid of the dark!).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from years and years of use I just replaces the mantel after 15 years Bought replacement mantels #95 when I bought this lantern. Amazing I new were the package was after 15 years but installed the new (old) mantel and fired it up. Yes very bright, so happy and excited for my 5 day adventure in a off grid cabin. So a least I don't need to worry about the dark.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Propane Polaris Much brighter than the one I bought 20ish years ago! Pretty happy with it; super bright, yet easy to adjust to comfortable dim warm light. I wish it would have come with a case. I didn't buy a case and I haven't broken anything other than mantels..

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Liked it but The thing doesn't turn off. I had to disconnect the fuel for it to turn off. And sometimes at medium light it would honk/hum until it was readjusted. Maybe mine was an anomaly, but I took it back.
