a little on the small side and flimsy
I used this backpack to cycle in to work daily. Great for summer months when its not so cold. Great lightweight design. My cold months clothes won't fit in it though, too small. Also after using for a few weeks the chest strap came off. I sent it in to be repaired and after not hearing back or getting my bag back for weeks I called to find out Timbuk2 had lost my bag. They were very apologetic and sent a replacement but all of this took 2 months! WAY too long and I was not compensated in any way, not to mention I had to pay $10 for shipping. UGH. Hindsight I would've repaired locally. Great lightweight bag but a little flimsy at the same time.
The perfect commuter backpack
Have used this backpack for my daily commute for about a month. You can tell the designers consulted bike commuters; every detail on this bag makes sense. The shirt folding board really works, and the shoe pockets are a great idea. If you don't need to ferry a heavy laptop back and forth, or need to pack a heavy jacket, this is your pack.
Excellent as a small travelling backpack or when cycling
I travel a lot and this goes everywhere I go as it rolls up into my suitcase taking up no space at all unlike these large stiff backpacks. Very handy when going out to explore and you just want to bring water, a map and a camera. When cycling it is comfortable and has room for what I need. The only thing I don't like is the key chain which gets caught in the zip for the upper pocket all the time. Also, I wish Timbuck2 would advise how much weight I can safely put into this bag. I bring a large camera and lens with me and although it appears very well made and strong I do wonder if I am pushing the boundaries on what is safe to carry.
Fantastic lightweight cycling pack for the minimalist
I love this little backpack for cycling. It's the perfect size for carrying a change of clothes, shoes, lunch and your typical items one would have with them for day use as well as lightweight commuting. It's lightweight and narrow for a cyclist that's looking for a simple backpack to carry a simple load without having a bulky pack on one's back while cycling. If you're looking for a backpack with multiple pockets and the ability to carry a heavy load, then this one isn't for you. The pack is made of lightweight material, so I'm not sure about the longevity and durability. However, I will love it until it needs to be replaced.
Magically makes whatever I'm carrying feel lighter
I was surprised by how light the bag felt on my back even after putting in my laptop (11" macbook air), charger, climbing harness, climbing shoes and a change of clothes. Having said that, part of the reason it feels so nice is that it sits really snugly on your back and that does make it a little hot (there isn't a cooling vent or anything like that). I'm also not a fan of the shoe pockets. It means less space in the main pocket overall and I would never put my shoes in my bag like that without covering them anyway. Overall, I'm really happy with it, because it's lightweight and feels good when I'm carrying it.
Functional and lightweight
I love how incredibly lightweight the material on this bag is! This backpack is designed for commuters who want to bring a change of clothes, and it leaves out all other unnecessary fixings. I have had to put my laptop in here a few times, but I wouldn't recommend it since there is really no protection for it. The straps are supremely thin, but still comfortable, and the reflective bottom is an excellent safety measure. Overall a beautifully simple and functional backpack!
Great except chest strap
Great backpack for commuting. Best for business casual or casual work clothes. Not enough space for suit but great for loafers, slacks/jeans and an oxford shirt. Sits high on back but does not impede look backs while on bike. Super light. Strap for reflector a simple but great attention to detail. Only complaint is chest strap. It fits into a groove that runs inside the backpack. In mine, the lightest pull dislodges the strap and it takes some time to fit it back into the groove. Maybe it is just mine, but a better design I think is to have small loops sewed onto the outside of the pack, then the chest straps can be secured by clip or Velcro - and they would also be removable.
Great Commuter pack!
Great pack. When I first opened it up, i didn't realize how large it actually is. Holds far more stuff than I thought. Love the inside shoe pockets, external pocket placement is perfect for grabbing stuff while still riding, clothes/shirt compartment works very well and doubles as a computer compartment. Very lightweight and comfortable. It's not ideal for heavy loads as it doesn't have internal structure, +15lbs. 2 things I wish: - wider should straps- the straps themselves, not the placement - Reflective Rain cover that zips into bottom I commute 2 ways, 4-5 times a week, about 150-200m/wk with this pack.
No frills, just the essentials.
As a daily bike commuter I am constantly looking for ways to lighten up my load. Most commuter packs these days focus on being able to carry a laptop/tablet which I have no use for and tends to add bulk to the bag. In the Raider I am able to carry a change of cloths and my lunch bag, plus a spare tube and mini pump with room to spare. I don't feel overloaded or top heavy with the load. I've been using the bag for a couple of weeks, so durability is still up in the air, but all signs point to a bag that will last. My only complaint, would be the lack of small interal pockets. However this is a minimalist pack so that's the trade off, which really doesn't bother me. Love the Raider.

I purchased this bag to use on the Cascade Cycle Club Seattle to Portland bike ride. I needed a pack that was lightweight but still had enough room to take the extra supplies with me that wouldn't fit in the seat bag. The bag performed amazing. It was very light even with my extra gear in the bag and was still very comfortable on the shoulders. Definitely a great addition to my Timbuk2 collection.
