Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE this tent I can't say enough good things about this tent. I had one issue with the plastic peg at the base of one of the poles snapping when I first got it, but that was easily fixed with an exchange at REI. I've had the tent for 18 months now and it's gone with me to Alaska, Montana, and all over the Midwest. With the rainfly off there's visibility to see all the stars in the sky, and when it rains the rainfly is completely waterproof. The tent is lightweight for backpacking and the two exits and vestibules make logistics for two people much easier. Two exits are a must for me in any future tent purchase. I'm about to take it backpacking in Hawaii and feel 100% confident in its ability to perform.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Tent The Nemo Galaxi 2P tent is an awesome “beginner tent” for backpacking. It weighs just over 5.5 lbs and it has great value due to the included footprint which usually runs at least $40. I’ve used this tent for multiple trips totaling two weeks and hasn’t disappointed. My last trip involved heavy rain for 24 hours straight and the tent kept us dry. The included stakes weren’t the best and fragile so I upgraded to the MSR Groundhogs. There is plenty of room for gear inside the tent and the side panels. Also, the vestibules provided enough cover for storing gear outside. I’m actually upgrading the tent to the Big Agnes Fly Creek UL2 which is about $150 more because to save weight and volume in my pack. Otherwise, the Nemo Galaxi 2P is a solid tent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great price and durability I took this out for the first trial run on a short snow backpacking trip near Lemolo Lake in Oregon. Set up was easy, and I was amazed at the quality of the components. I really enjoyed the footprint being included, and also the one piece frame assembly. It's about a pound heavier than I would have liked, but my main requirement was the tent had to be water proof. It proved just that and even water that formed between the tent and the footprint (because I put it in a low spot) did not penetrate the floor. Looking forward to more trips with it in the future!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tent! I bought this tent almost a month ago and finally got to try it out. I took it out on a 17 mike two day backpacking trip. It poured the rain and we had 30 mile/hr winds and it performed flawlessly. Easy to set up and break down (in the dark while raining). Plenty of room for me and my gear and I have no doubt that two people could share with no problem. The double vestibules are huge and I really like how it has two separate doors. It is a little bulky and heavier than some other 2 person tents but I think the trade off by having a well put together tent with a little thicker material and heavier duty rain fly is well worth it. Buy it, you won't regret it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well designed tent I bought this tent for canoeing camping on gravel bars on streams in the Ozarks. The tent is exceptionally easy to set up. The interior footprint area is generous for two people. The ceiling pocket for an LED light spreads light around the whole tent. The two exterior vestibules provide a lot of cover area for gear during rain events. I bought the birch green color. During the day or lit at night, the tent is simply attractive. If the tent was lighter, this would be my backpacking tent. For canoe camping or base camps, I highly recommend this tent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Shelter I used this tent for two years. It is extremely easy to set up and take down, even by yourself! The hubbed poles are sturdy and the pitch is easy to get taut. There is TONS of room in this tent. Plenty for two people (think two 6' 170 lb. humans and a medium dog comfortably) and the vestibules on both sides give plenty of room for gear storage. I would highly recommend this tent to anyone looking for a shelter in this category, although it is a bit heavy for backpacking at around 5 lbs. Durable, sturdy, roomy, highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy set-up & great features This tent is a great value for the moderately low price. I bought this tent about 2 months ago, i've gotten to use it about 10 times. Used it in heavy winds in the eastern sierra's and it stood the test, and it was not hard to put together because of the snap system, and also the fact that the poles are all connected. I put it together in probably 5 minutes. It is really simple to do, even in poor wind conditions. I have also had the chance to use it in the rain and it also stands the test there as well. For ultra light packing it is a little bit heavy, but I will gladly carry the extra weight for this guy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Leaking Issues, Great Size, Cozy Tent! Received this as a gift and have used it several times, I am absolutely in love. Went on a camping trip to Big Sur in a LARGE storm that caused mudslides and road closures. Not a drop of water made it into the tent. When we got home the fly and footprint dried very quickly and it packs down easily. It's a pretty simple set up, and because the poles clip onto the outside of the inner tent it's VERY easy to set up in the rain by just attaching the fly first. Really prevents extra water from entering the tent. We are two average sized people who fit perfectly inside of it with room for packs, and I LOVE the pockets for the head lamps and lantern hanger for light. More recently we went on a trip where there was some snow, and stayed snug as a bug inside. Great quality, and will absolutely continue to use their products.

Does this tent have a "bath tub" floor, or is there a seam where the flor and sides meet?

Asked by: Keithel
This tent does not have a bath tub style floor. There is a seam that connects the floor to the wall.

What is the purpose of the black velcro strips (labeled "ID patch" on my new tent) on the outside of the rain fly? There is one located on the lower right side of each vestibule, just above the Nemo logo.

Asked by: Sadie
I'd like to point out they at one point Nemo did a lot of military-oriented products. a 1x5 patch would allow you to put the name of the Soldier or Marine on the outside of the tent so you  could find them without having to check with the occupants. The recent shift to velcro name tapes  in the last 10 years among American armed forces means that they would readily have these velcro patched available.

I just weighed my new Galaxy 2P and am confused about the quoted weight. My "whole" tent (i.e. the bag and everything that came in it) weighs 6 lbs 0 oz. You quote 5 lbs 8 oz and Nemo quotes 5 lbs 6 oz.

Asked by: mtndrew
The weight that you are getting includes the footprint. The weight listed on and NEMO's site does not include the footprint.

Is the top mesh pocket removable?

Asked by: Janelleslt
The two light pockets that can house a headlamp at the top of the tent are sewn in and cannot be removed. The gear loft (sold separately) is removable.

What is the confirmed length? I have seen 90 inches but heard people say 86 inches on you tube reviews. I want to know if it is long enough to store to 60 liter backs at the feet if I am 5-9. Thanks!

Asked by: Kjhurt
NEMO has confirmed the length as 90".

The canopy fabric is labeled as "mesh" in the specs, but I believe Nemo has it listed as more than that. Is this true? Shouldn't it be a certain denier of nylon?

Asked by: Butler
The canopy fabric is 20D No-see-um mesh.
