Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great rain pant, but not for high aerobic activities For walking around the city (yeah, Vancouver) in a downpour, walking the dog, or light activities, fantastic pant. Super light, and packable. But for uphill hikes, snowshoeing, cycling hills--anything strenuous--go with the Beta AR, or even the Alpha SL with the side venting zippers. As the product description says, for emergency use when the weather turns. PacLite can be a bit clammy when you get warm-especially against skin. Not bad with a base layer underneath. Warning...if you wear these pants and your shoes aren't waterproof, your feet will get soaked!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expensive, but worth it! I felt like I had to come give this a great review because the only other review was 2 stars and it was for an extremely stupid reason. Yes, these are expensive, but they're made with Gore-Tex. Bottom line: If you want water-proof pants that won't make you sweat bullets, they MUST be made out of Gore-Tex. That's the reason these are so expensive. They are worth WAY more than the $50 the other reviewer suggested they were worth. In fact, I'd say the price point is just about perfect. If you're the type of person that needs some waterproof pants to bike to/from work, get cheaper pants. But, if you're a serious hiker/backpacker/outdoorsperson and you need waterproof pants you can be comfortable in all day, every day, these are the best. Well worth the $200. It saddens me to know that people are allowed to give low ratings for a product they obviously know nothing about.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hiking Maybe But Not So Great For Work I bought these rain pants because I was going to be sitting in a boat all day in the rain. I was hoping they might keep me dry since they were Gore-tex, but alas they did soak through where I was sitting and along the thighs where they got the most rain. Also they snagged some metal and ripped a bit. Probably a good purchase for lightweight hiking, though still a bit steep at $200 in my opinion.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Overpriced Expensive. Worth 50 bucks at best. Sorry but these pants are overpriced.
