Rated 4 out of 5 by from Safer when in the ocean and I could find them easy I bought this for my hiking and swimming in Hawaii. They were great! I lost my last pair of prescription glasses when a wave hit me and my glasses sunk since the strap was not a floatie! My fault totally. This time I was ready for it and they were comfortable. They won't fit in a standard hard glasses case with them attached, but a soft glasses bag is fine. A little worry some since I didn't want my glasses to get crushed with all my gear. I wore them all day around my neck so I didn't have to worry about them. An adjustable strap would have been more a bit more helpful. A bit hard to put on if your glasses have rubber around the arms that wrap over your ears. Buy again? Yes, as long as you are okay knowing these things. Not for you if you have a thick or long neck as it will be too tight. Good luck!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from cool concept I bought these for my kayaking sunglasses, either my wrap around glasses are a bit too big or the fabric is a little too tight to get them in...overall I like the product

Can anyone who bought these say whether they hold well to the relatively small ear pieces of wire rim glasses? I checked by chat session with REI and they say they are NOT intended to float. Any experience with them slipping off in water?

These are intended to be used on a variety of glasses and sizes but I would encourage you to try them in your home before going out on the water to ensure a snug fit. Here are two other designs that do float if you would like that feature:
