Rated 5 out of 5 by from Constant Winter Companion I got this jacket to replace a well-worn older Helly Hansen down parka, needing something warm for N. Cascades winters and various adventures in cold. This jacket became my best friend! It's quite lightweight, moreso than other down/synthetic jackets, yet the warmth is significant for its size. I can pack it quickly into a backcountry ski pack or carry it easily in luggage without feeling any heft, and as soon as I put it on it's like stepping into a heater. I have a feeling I'll wear this completely out from loving use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Typical OR Quality for the backcountry I ordered the Incandescent Hoody because I wanted a lightweight 800 fill down jacket for my work. As a wildlife field biologist and tracker, I spend over 300 days in the field every year in the Rockies and the desert through all weather situations. This hoody is a perfect layer under my expedition fit shell and can easily be layered with a warm fleece. I have taken this on a backpacking trip on the Continental Divide in colder weather this fall and it kept me warm and toasty in cold conditions in the low twenties with precipitation. I found it runs true to size for me and the fit was perfect. I highly recommend this item and look forward to putting it through its paces this coming winter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superlight & Superwarm Super light and very packable. Barely noticeable when on. 800 fill down is so cozy. I only wish it had an interal pocket. So stuffable I can take it everywhere - even if it's overkill. Nice to be so warm!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top Shelf The fit and finish of this jacket is excellent. Details like zipper protection tape on the inside storm flap (yes its down filled) make this jacket stand out. The tapered bottom cut wraps right where it is suppose to and the zipper pulls are contoured and have grippers so using with gloves isn't an issue. The Pertex Quantum fabric is great except in black it has the "wet look" reminiscent of the late 70's, but I don't really care about the fashion of a garment so I didn't down grade it for the fabric look. All in all a great jacket, yes it is worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent jacket, super warm and compressible This is a great jacket. It's warm, amazingly light and stuffs into its own pocket easily. A must have for ski tours in colder weather and any winter camping activity. The double zipper would also make it a terrific belay jacket. The front zip is a little tricky to get the hang of, I found it stuck right at the bottom almost every time, but once you get the hang of it you'll get it every time. It's like a front door lock with bit of a personality. The hood is awesome and just as warm and cozy as the rest of the jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Jacket - stylish and comfortable The Incandescent Hoody is the best down jacket i have ever owned. The light weight of the jacket almost makes you feel like you have nothing on yet it manages to keep you warm and comfy. Its almost like the jacket adjusts to the temperature you're in. I bought the Supernova/Diablo color and have gotten so many compliments on the styling of the jacket and the exquisite color. Can't wait to order the jacket in Abyss and get an awesome shell for it also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great warm layer Been using this on all my colder days ski touring or winter camping. Its a great puffy that still packs down small to fit in your backpack. I really like how you can adjust the hood so it fits just right and follows head movements. I would use it more but to be honest its so dang warm I find myself using the thinner Transcendent Hoody unless its in the single digits or colder. Size L for me at 6' 4" 185 pounds and it fits about perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stop searching, this is the one you want. All my downs are OR, I've played with a few others, but stopped when I got to this one. I am 5-10 180 athletic build and wear the medium. (Also a medium in the transdecent) This jacket makes me wish I lived in permanent cold weather just so I can live in the complete comfort it offers. So soft, so warm, and so well made. Nothing I can add that others haven't already said. This thing is just perfect. Blue is what I got, looks very nice.
