Great heavy down parka with GoreTex

Had mine for about 4 years now. It's holding up really well. It's a seasonal piece for me, but it keeps me quite warm during the winter. I wouldn't suggest doing anything super active with this jacket since it's not a technical piece, but for low energy activities, it's perfect. It also looks great. It fits me well. I'm 5'7, 180 lbs. The sleeves are a little long, but I can fold the shell in and it doesn't affect function or aesthetics. The torso has enough room for me to layer up if I need to. Keep in mind that I bought mine in 2021, and OR might have made changes to the fit of this jacket for latter years and iterations.

A really good jacket, with a few tweaks, it would be great.

The jacket is a good, bordering on great, jacket. Warm and very high quality. As mentioned in the other reviews, it does run large. I want enough room to layer if it's really cold, and some way to cinch it if I'm not layering. (After having it for a month, I wish I'd traded it in for a size smaller.) The men's doesn't have any way to cinch at the waist, while oddly, while the women's version is cinch-able. Why? The women's also have two features the men's doesn't - the hood on the women's version is fleece lined and the wrist gaiters on the women's have thumb loops. Both nice touches that the men's version lacks.

Great jacket, a little tight

The jacket is very well made and warm, but it is a little tight at the bottom. I ordered a small as a 5’9” 170lbs man and the top part fits perfectly the bottom goes to about mid thigh and is a bit tight. I can’t fit my pistol in an owb holster and zip it. If you’re using it for that I’d order a size up but it may be a bit big up top then. There is a multitude of pockets and they are well sized and most have zippers so I would definitely recommend it; I just wish they had a size exchange. It should be fine if you’re unarmed or carry appendix. Just know due to the length you cant slide it up to draw either

Very warm, good fit.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Im male,5'9 and 160lbs. I normally wear medium but got a small due to reviews. The jacket fits very well and I like the flap pockets for gloves and side pockets to keep hands warm. I've used it down to -30C and was very warm with the hood up. I really like the goretex outer layer as Its handy if you travel to work through varying conditions over a day. It's my first down jacket and I'm quite happy with it. The bottom zipper has a tendency to raise so you have to make a habit of ensuring it's at the bottom before trying to take off the jacket. The two zippers stick at the bottom otherwise.

Great Jacket!

I've only used this jacket a few times since purchasing it, and not in the rain yet, but the warmth and utility are fantastic. I'm a big fan of the pocket options as this jacket provides the most/best options of any other jacket I've ever tried. The only reason for the 4/5 stars is that the sizing is way way off. I haven't worn smaller than an XL in 12 years but this jacket in XL was comically large. In fact, the L is almost too big as well, but I'm keeping it in case I need to layer on bulky clothes underneath. If you can find the right size, then this jacket seems is a great choice.

Great parka for its intended use.

This parka is very warm. I travel frequently to Eastern Washington spending a lot of time outdoors working as a locksmith and photographer. Starting in the apparel industry in 1980, I've owned and sewed numerous custom down jackets and vests. This parka ranks among the top for warmth and durability. It's not a jacket I would wear for extended periods of exertion, as it will overheat. If you need to be outside for extended periods of time, this will do the job. The additional warmth gained by a free-hanging Gore shell can't be understated. The fleece pockets are great for hand warming and the storm cuffs are nice. Pro tip for making any zipper perform better, use some paraffin wax to lube the zipper a bit.

Perfect winter coat

It’s a great winter coat, my husband loves it! I ordered an XL and it fits his 6’6” frame perfectly. It’s toasty warm and the Gore-tex keeps him dry. Good sized good as well. We both love the green colour too.

Great coat

This coat is reasonably lightweight and cuts the wind very well. Haven't tried it in a wet environment yet, but with the GoreTex name emblazoned on the product, I don't doubt it will perform as expected. The double zipper is difficult to keep aligned while starting the zipper. The color is much less, Texas Burnt Orange and much more Saddle Leather Brown, which was a welcome surprise. That could easily be an issue of my monitor coloring instead of advertising, and I should've seen it coming since the color is named Saddle... The pockets also make great hand warmers!

Great jacket but runs small!

I bought this jacket and tested it out throughout the winter, often at -40 degrees. Pros: 1.) Durability- Processing wood in this jacket didn't leave a mark. 2.) Pockets- One of the best features are all of the pockets on this jacket. Especially the hand warmers. 3.) Warmth: I had no problem staying warm in this jacket. Cons: 1.) Size: Definately runs small. The arms are too short. 2.) Warmth: strangely, the arms don't seem to have the same insulation ability as the rest of the coat. Even when I had just left the house, the elbow area was immediately cold.

Love the Jacket, had it for 2 years and just bought another.

Loved the jacket. Had the same one for 2+ years and it was my best jacket ever. The other night I was out in a snowstorm and gave it to a homeless guy and yesterday bought the exact same jacket again. It's ideal for cold, snowy, and windy weather. We do a lot of winter Razor riding, winter hikes, and camping and it does great. Did have zipper issues with the other one, but this seems better. My family jokes with me because I like the jacket so much. Sizing is similar to other comments. I'm between an XL and XXL and so the fit is perfect-it does run large.
