Rated 5 out of 5 by from Takes The Place of Your Baby Blanket I purchased this sweater a few years ago and apparently someone liked it better than I. As hard as it was to pull the trigger on another after the first one was stolen, I just couldn't live without it anymore. Why? Because I travel the world and when I have it in my backpack, camera bag, suitcase or carryon I know I won't be caught in the cold. It's warm without being heavy, soft, comfortable and "cute" according to a recent business acquaintance. It's a good "secure" feeling (hence the baby blanket) knowing you won't be caught in the elements. One note...I think it runs true to size if you like shirts to fit snug. I went one size up on this item and glad I did.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warm, comy, a little itchy if you can't wear wool First the challenge: I've always been highly sensitive to wool, and even this merino wool irritates my skin if I wear it for longer than 30 min. However, I loved the look and fit so much, and knew I'd need to warm base layer while skiing, so I bought it anyways. I was able to stay comfortable by layering a thin, long-sleeved cotton shirt underneath this one. It really did keep me warm on the slopes of the Swiss Alps while skiing. Since then, I've also worn it while running without the cotton layer underneath. It's fine for a couple miles run, but I can't wear it much longer than that. If I don't have any sensitivity to wool, this would be the perfect shirt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful I got it in the color Arctic blue heather. It's really nice I love the color and fit. It looks great on. It looks really good as casual wear (sporty chic), under garment for skiing, sleep in it on cold nights.. endless possibilites. The first time I got it I was a bit cold so I slept in it (in Seattle I might add! during summertime so it wasn't cold outside). It kept perfect heat I didn't wake up in a pool of sweat (as I was afraid I would). Does not itch! bought the ligthweight pants to go with it from smartwool and they itch a bit. I love it and will get plenty of use from it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new fave! This has become my go-to top for chilly to cold days. I have washed it about 3 times, and it comes out of the dryer looking and feeling so soft, even if I don't layer anything underneath. Normally I wear a size 6-8, and the M fit perfectly, allowing plenty of comfortable room for layering. I have worn every thickness from a thin camisole to a medium weight base layer, and have been cozy without feeling like a stuffed sausage :). The top has kept me warm at the office as well as out snow shoeing and fat biking. Looking forward to next year's colors!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Itchy, especially the seams I love Smartwool and was super excited to receive this after ordering it, but was so disappointed. I found the fabric to be itchy (but only on the inside, where it lays against your skin) and the seams were CRAZY itchy. They lack sealing with the clear rubber that many fabrics are often sewn with, so when I tried it on, every movement rubbed the seams against my skin. I can't imagine layering, much less wearing a pack. I found the sleeves to be adequate but the body to be too short for my 5'9" frame (I bought a small at ~135-140lbs and it was incredibly fitted, whereas my other small Smartwool products fit with room to spare). Loved the pattern, though, and was looking forward to wearing under my Smartwool PhD Hyfi vest. Sadly this one went back : (

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this underlayer! What a great thing to wear when you're working outside, either sweating while trekking up a big hill in the snow or chilling on the porch in the cold. I appreciate the 1/4-zip for extra breath-ability when you're over heating. Not itchy at all. Runs small though. I'm not a big person and I got the largest one they make (XL) and it was barely just right.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this shirt! I was looking for warm shirts for fall & the purple version of this shirt looks great with jeans. It is soft on bare skin, a great fit and the sleeve length is nice and long (I have trouble finding sleeves that are long enough.) I wish there were more striped colors because I would definitely add more to my wardrobe. I love that I can wear it casually or hiking. It will also be a great shirt for traveling. It's machine wash & dry.
