Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light weight, accurate, back-lighted I had one of these, purchased from a local bike shop, which gave up after about three years. While it worked, however, it gave stable repeatable measurements, took NVH on the bike and heat and cold while in the car's console. It's light, compact, and doesn't waste air getting on and off the valve. I'd have no problem buying another, especially from a place like REI, with their liberal return policy. And, I'll say, it failed nicely when it failed: it didn't drift or go mute, but gave numbers that werely clearly insane, so I knew not to trust it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great Never had an issue with mine. Always a couple PSI more accurate than my floor pump. I started using this digital guage when I switched over to using tubeless tires on my road bike. It is a lot easier and more accurate to check pressure before a ride using this guage rather than re-pumping the tires to make sure they are at an exact pressure. Also the guage does not cause any loss of pressure when applying or removing it, but don't be sloppy in your technique. Swiftly engage, and remove when a reading is acquired. Why bother carrying during a ride? If you are good to go at the beginning of a ride then just go. I consider this much more of a pre or post ride checker to stay on top of accurate pressure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Precise Gauge, great for fatbikes If you ride a fatbike, you need a gauge that will read LOW pressures. I've run 3.5 PSI in mine in the snow. This gauge gives accurate readings as low as you need to go. The backlight is really helpful for night rides and dimly lit garages. I haven't tested the ruggedness of my own Airchecker, but a friend found one buried in the hardpacked snow path at the CX Nationals a couple years ago. He had to kick at it with his heel to dig it out of the snow. It worked fine. I told this to some shop guys and they all agreed, "yep, not surprised."

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does what it says. I purchased this to check on my bike tires. I have a presta valve and didn't have a presta gauge. I was getting a lot of pinch flats and everyone suggested I check the tire pressure on my bike. I was usually around 30 PSI without the gauge and now I can tell where I am at with the gauge. Now I make sure I don't leave the garage under 36 PSI for my rear tire. CONS: Sometimes I have to do a second reading because it doesn't always get a good fit on the first try. I usually take 3 readings to make sure I have the correct reading.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a Good Fit for Serious Cycling Applications SKS Airchecker is fairly well-built, nothing extraordinary, but serviceable. The rotating head is a nice feature that increases the situations where the pressure gauge is functional. For Schrader applications the valve sealed up well and took a reading that was consistent with the other gauges I own and consider accurate. My intention was to use this to more accurately measure cyclocross and mountain bike tire pressures for racing. Certainly needs to be accurate to the 1 PSI, and tenths would be appreciated. The gauge is so difficult to use with Presta that I had a hard time getting it to be consistent reading after reading to the 10 PSI level (I.E. 29, 19, 5, 25, etc). It also does a real-time reading and does not 'hold' the reading so you have to be viewing it directly to use. This will be returned, and I hope there is a better fit out there.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from way off just bought this and tested it against 2 other pump gauges that have some measure of accuracy. The pressure this recorded was way low, my 29er tire was very hard, at least 35 psi or higher and this thing read 19 psi. do not buy this, waste of time and money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Little awkward to use Works fine and is very accurate. My only complaint is that in order to make multiple sequential readings, you have to turn it off (or wait until it turns itself off) and then back on again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very best for the price and durable. Excellent gauge and versatile.I've owned quite a few and this far surpasses any of the others.

How many Grams?  I have seen it reported at both 45 & 60, on other sites.

Asked by: Madone52
