Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shorts, but who designed the fly? Love these shorts. They fit great, they're made well and I love all of the pockets. My only issue is the design of the fly. These shorts have a button and tab like a pair of dress pants. You button the tab, then snap the waist. It makes the front of the shorts lay flat. The problem with the design of these is that if you have the flap buttoned and you attempt to use the fly for traditional access, you'll find that the tab is completely in the way. The result is you have to reach in and unbutton the tab in order to use the fly for its traditional purpose. Probably not an issue if these were women's shorts, but inconvenient if you're a guy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice shorts but not for climbing So, I love these shorts BUT you need to understand these belong in the "casual outdoorsy" class that all the big brands are now mining these days. They'll do for day to day semi active wear. Fit great, look great, have nice pockets yada yada. But the name of the shorts is Krux and they're long. They look like climbing shorts. Tag even says "Crag Series". So with that name, you'd expect them to be good, okay maybe decent for rock climbing. Krux, get it? But they're not. One day of climbing, one day of minor rubbing on a multi-pitch route in Eldo and these things developed three holes. The fabric is weak and can't handle ANY abrasion. This was not a big off width crack day where I spent the whole time jamming my thigh into stuff. Normal climbing. Very disappointed. I have two pair. Guess they're tough enough for that big day hike followed by looking good at the outdoor beer garden afterwards. Please don't name them Krux, it's false advertising, please don't trade on climbing cool. Either make a short that holds up or name them something tame. Check the photo. Thanks

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect I've got two pair & they're my favorite. Could be better though. When 'buttoned up' as designed, you take three steps: inner cross-strap/button, waist snap, and zip. To 'relieve yourself', you must then also take the three steps in reverse, then back together again. No chance to simply un-zip & zip since the inner cross-strap prevents that. Hadn't even considered there'd be a 'challenge' like this, but there you have it. You either get used to it (plan ahead...) or simply forego the inner-strap. However, I'd still (and probably will) buy another pair!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Uniform Okay, these are my third (and fourth) pair. I love these "shants". They are so comfortable and seem to cover up my left knee that, due to poor technique ,often gets dragged across the rock when climbing. Admittedly, I wear these too much and they are quite literally a sort of uniform that is rounded out by t-shirts and running shoes or flip flops. While these will never last as long as a pair of Patagonia anything, they are durable enough to keep me coming back. In fact when my last pair ripped out at the seat due to the material just breaking down from 10 zillion wash cycles I got pretty worried they wouldn't make them anymore. My last purchase I bought two pair just to make sure I have them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too long and too heavy (for me) I have Kuhl Renegade pants, love them, and thought I would as suchgive these shorts a try. I noted the cotton/nylon blend but thought that it would be okay. Unfortunately, compared to my highly breathable Kuhl Renegades these were just too heavy (all the more so for a pair of summer shorts). Similarly, while I was initially looking for a pair of comfortably long shorts, the 16" inseam is just a tad too long for my preference. 14-12" is probably where I want to be. The build quality seemed just fine, but the material and the cut was not for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolute favorite short. Please don't stop making these, Kuhl! These are just fantastic, go-to, all around shorts. comfy for hiking, biking and just everything. I've worn out a couple pairs of them, but probably with 400+ full days of wear in them. No complaints there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perhaps the best shorts ever. I had recently purchased a pair of Renegade shorts and was so happy with them, I went back to get a 2nd pair and found the Krux shorts. The cotton / nylon blend is just right in that it dries quickly and makes the fabric very lightweight. They're a little longer than a typical pair of shorts making them a great choice for hiking. The cell phone pocket is ingenious although I think it could be a little more narrow. My iPhone jiggles around but has not come out. Overall, a GREAT pair of shorts for just about any outdoor occasion (except a wedding maybe)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome shorts! I love these shorts and wear them as long as the weather permits. The design rocks and the material is really comfortable and nice looking. I also like the fact that they are below the knee for climbing and hiking protection. I especially love all of the pockets so I can carry keys, wallet, phone, etc. without worrying about them falling out.

What fit are these shorts? I have some RYDR pants that are full fit and want to make sure these are similar.
