Low Quality
The inside part handles on 2 of the cups were rough and some what sharp. One bowl has a thumbprint sized spot of exposed metal without any enamel on it. 2 plates the enamel is uneven like an extra thick stream or bubble of enamel that makes it look off compared to the rest of the plates. The bare rims is off putting for 2 reasons. Stuff can get stuck under that rim (finger nail can scrape under it) and the seams where the rim meets itself is like a can lid just slightly duller. For more than 3 times the price of a competitor's brand that does not have any of those issues, this set is definitely not worth it.
Fitting for the picnic table
Straight out of the box, two of the four mugs leaked at the steel rims (the steel rims weren't tight enough?). Hot liquid in the mugs are VERY hot to the touch (use caution). Plates and bowls functioned perfectly. Honestly, I added this to my car camping collection for cosmetic reasons, just a little disappointed with construction of the mugs.
Horrible quality....do not buy
I bought this a couple of days ago. Many of the plates and cup have bad defects. One plate has many bubbles formed on the top and a rusted spot. The cups metal rim is not wrapper properly. This is extremely poor quality and I'm surprised REI is selling it.
Perfect for Car Camping
I was hesitant to buy these online since there were a few reviews about receiving some with defects. The package arrived with no defects. We used them on a week long car camping trip with no issues. I wish they made a carrying case or container for these. They all packed down in an 17Lx12Wx6.5H 15Qt/14L container with 4 sets of utensils.
High Quality and Classic
Our family of 5 has been enjoying this set for car camping for 15 years now. Very durable and clean up beautifully. There’s nothing worse than trying to eat using a floppy, soggy paper plate. I look forward to many more years of camp meals using this gorgeous, classic enamelware.
Solid
This set will last a lifetime. If you car camp and cook steaks and chicken then this is the set for you. This is the only set that will withstand constant cutting with knives. Other plastic sets get damaged after a few uses. Wait for a sale or use a coupon for this cause it is expensive.
NOT a steel
This product may be made by steel, issue that i had was edge started rust. we left one night out while camping and it rain and in mornig rust started to form around the edge, I return the product as soon as possible.
Great durable camp set
Awesome set very durable, packs away well too. Just wish the coffee mugs had a thicker handle. When you have very hot liquids in the cup handle gets all that heat transfered.
great camping dishes
These are great camping dishes. My only complaint is some of my cups came out of the box with factory defects on the coating.
Envy of other campers.
Only one drawback to this set: the handles of the mugs get hot when filled with coffee or tea; it would be nice to have some sort of removable sleeve to help protect sensitive fingers. Otherwise, the set is great and fit our wishes perfectly.
