Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good start I bought my first of these a few months ago when I was getting ready to make trip out to Zion and Bryce Canyons. It worked pretty well. I preferred the thinner type of mole skin. I developed some blisters a couple weekends ago when out for a hike. I was only about 1.5 miles in on a big uphill climb. I applied the mole skin with some tincture of benzene and my heels were super happy. I ended up completing a total of 9 miles that day with no problems. I just bought another kit to add to my collection. I wish there was a bigger kit I could buy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Skip it I go camping a lot and was in REI and decided to check out their blister care section becaue I get blisters on the toes and on the achilles area from running. I decided to give this pack a try since it looked like it had a great variety. I used it when I got new shoes and the she was rubbing my toes and schilles area. I put moleskin in those areas, but the adhesive was weak and the moleskin was so thin it gave virtually no relief and was off within the hour. So I decided to give the glacial gel a try. It was decent, my only complaint is they only give you one of each size, so if you have blisters on both feet you are going to have to either pick which one you really want to treat or assess which one might be able to use the smaller size gel which wasn't big enough to cover either blister. It would have been nice to have 2 of each size. The gel gave relief for a briefd amount of time until it too rolled up and fell off. I wouldn't buy this again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Die-cut has its pros and cons Somehow I thought this kit would have more oval blister bandages (it only had two), but I had mistaken the pre-cut moleskin for those bandages. Unfortunately, in the field, none of the shapes of the pre-cuts quite fit the hot-spot on my foot. Another problem was that the moleskin came off my foot twice when I removed my sock (stuck to the sock), so I had to re-apply. Didn't need to use the alcohol prep wipes, nor the antiseptic, so those will be useful in future first-aid kits.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The moleskin is worthless I suspected trouble when I opened the package in my hotel room in São Filipe, Fogo island, Cape Verde. I had just come back from a hike steeply up the rim of Fogo's caldera and had way overextended myself. One result was painful blisters. So I eagerly extracted the moleskin, only to discover that it was peeling from its backing right out of the package. I applied it anyway but, sure enough, it had almost no adhesive strength and soon peeled off my toes. In addition, the cutout holes were too big for my blisters and the moleskin was too thin. It was useless. I'd like my money back. Fortunately, I'd packed some generic moleskin from a discount drugstore at the last minute. It worked. Otherwise I'd have spent the next few days in enforced idleness while my feet recovered. This item also contains a product called, I believe, Glacier Gel, and about that I have no opinion, because I didn't try it. The alcohol wipes that come with it were effective. But the moleskin is worthless.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Misleading Packaging At best, I think this packaging is misleading, at worst, it's downright deceptive. On the top-right of this thick package it states "24 Adhesive Dressings." I squeezed the package when I picked it up and thought - WOW, it must contain some very large, nice cushiony blister dressings - just what I needed for my blisters. Prominent on the bottom-left of the package it states "GlacierGel Multi-Day Hydrogel Dressing." Sounded good to me, so I bought it. Unfortunately, when I opened it at home, I found only TWO hydrogel dressings - one large and one small. The rest of the pack contained some precut moleskin and TWELVE prepackaged antiseptic wipes (that's what made the package feel cushiony). The outside of this packaging is made out of some type of green plastic with lots of visual distraction and is very hard to read. The only saving grace is that REI stands behind their products. I know they will give me a credit, even though I didn't realize just how bad this kit was until I opened it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Foot protection I bought this as I was traveling light and knew I would be walking a lot and could not risk having foot problems that would prevent me from enjoying my trip. I liked the variety of products in the kit. Fortunately I only used it once so far but having it gave me peace of mind.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent addition to your backpack Great starter kit to add to. Remember a blister can stop your day out being enjoyable or even worse send you back to the car early. Good instructions and a good base kit to add your extras to.
