Great glasses, disappointing case and accessories

This is a review for my third pair of Stingrays, so that should say something. The previous two were broken, and it was not due to the quality of the glasses (user's fault). These stand up to a lot of abuse, and still look great at the end of the day. My face is on the mid-smaller side (male) and they fit great, a very good balance of full coverage vs. slim profile. Why four stars and not five? The case. The previous iterations shipped with a high quality zipped semi hard shell case and a microfiber bag. These? A flimsy folding case with a magnetic closure that I would not trust to stand up being put into a backpack, and a small lens cloth. For as much as these sunglasses cost, the high quality materials and attention to detail should apply across the board. Costas still ship with a zippered semi-hard case; so should these.

Best I ever owned

I've had a pair of polarized Stingrays since 2011/2012. They have protected my eyes all over the world while doing many activities ie kayaking, swimming, hiking etc while still enjoying all the vibrant colors of nature. Frame construction is top notch, never had an issue other than the Maui Jim logo being erased over time . The lenses latest a long time as I took very good care of them(only minor marks on inside of lens). But sadly on 10 March 2023 they have become a permanent resident on the beaches if Punta Cana. These were the first pair of expensive sunglasses I ever but they were absolutely worth it and I will be buying a new pair.

Unexpectedly disappointed

Really disappointed!!! I have been wearing Maui Jim’s for years and LOVED them. My first pair had traveled the world with me and they were indestructible and always looked bar and new. After regretfully losing them, I purchased a pair of Stingrays. When getting out of the car they fell out if my hand and fell onto a smooth concrete driveway. Well you would have thought I had been abusing them for years. The lens scratched, but the frames are a mess. Knicked, scratched and dinged up pretty bad. They could have never gone through what my first pair had gone through. I’m going to see about returning them. I would have never expected this from Maui Jim...

Maui Jim's are the only sunglasses for me!

These are GREAT sunglasses and my second pair of Maui Jim's. My first pair was at least 20 years ago and are completely out of style, but I still love them. I love the Stingrays mostly for the wrap style, which works perfectly for blocking the sun from every direction. They are prefect for driving, boating, golfing or just working in the sun. When they arrived, which was just a few days from the day I placed the order, the case was too small. I immediately called and was sent a new large case, which works perfectly. The new collapsible case is great for slipping in a small purse. I cannot say enough good things about Maui Jim sunglasses. They are the best I have ever had!

Great service for the past 2 decades

I can't remember exactly when I purchased these but guessing 2 decades ago. Great optics and incredibly durable. The lens coating must be exceptional as they have no scratches. The glossy finish has worn off the temples and the temples are stretched from all of the use and wearing them on my head. I'm in the process of sending back for new frames and a refresh. Polarized bronze lens are great for saltwater sight fishing as well.

Love my Stingray glasses!

Just received my Stingray sunglasses with 1.5 readers. They are awesome! I already had two pairs of Stingray sunglasses without readers but now I need the readers. The readers are perfectly positioned at the bottom of the lenses and don't interfere with looking straight out. Now I don't always have to switch glasses when I stop to check email or other messages. And although they probably are not lighter than my original Stingray glasses they sure feel lighter. I bought my other Stingray sunglasses 10 yrs ago. They still look new! And I love the case that came with my new sunglasses. Very cool design.

Stingray Wrap Polarized Sunglasses--ideal

Please keep making these Stingray Wrap Polarized sunglasses forever! These lenses keep me from getting migraines from glare all year round. They can change your life. Although they are incredibly durable, I wear them constantly and eventually after 4-5 years I do something disastrous to each pair, like I just did. Unpacking at the end of a camping trip, going in and out with them not in their case, I crunched them under my big foot! I'm so happy that I can buy a new pair. I love everything about them from the wrap design, the perfectly comfortable fit on my face, the way they keep their balance, and the way that even after a crunched lens, they could be bent back for temporary use.

Disappointed in protective storage case

I love the sunglasses! This is my third pair.. I lost the previous two pairs. The one thing that disappointed me is the storage case that I received with my sunglasses and no protective sleeve just a lens cleaning cloth. It is literally a cardboard box. My previous pairs I received a nice sturdy case and sleeve to store my sunglasses. For the amount I paid, I was disappointed.

I am now a convert. These rule.

Best sunglasses I’ve ever had. I’ve always bought cheap sunglasses because I’m rough with them. I also thought it absurd to spend a lot of money on them. Well I finally got a pair and I love them. The fit. The lens. The look. I will totally not trash these. Love love love them. Never going back to crappy gas station glasses. Well maybe after a few cocktails. 😂😂.

Awesome shades and saved my eye in a crash!

By far my favorite MJ shades for the following reasons: - Great tight fit so they don't fall off at amusement parks such as Disneyland and Universal Studios. - Comfortable with integrated nose pads with no adjusting needed. - Sturdy arms with strong springs - Frame arms do not interfere with wearing baseball caps (a big deal for me) - Clarity and protection with prescription lenses Finally, I recently crashed on my mtn bike resulting in 5 stitches under my eye from the frame of these glasses digging into my cheek. The MJ prescription lenses were badly scraped but remained in place and did not break... saving me possible worse damage to my eye. Although stitches were needed, the fact these glasses stayed in place and the lenses and frame took the impact, protecting my eye from the street makes me extremely thankful that I had these on while riding. I am going to need to order a new pair soon to replace my damaged prescription lenses.
