Details

  • Made of all-natural ingredients, this soap is ideal for camping, as it is gentle on the environment
  • Gentle to delicate skin, this soap can be used for bathing, shaving, as shampoo and as mouthwash

Made in USA.

Leave No Trace: Even biodegradable soaps and cleansers shouldn't be used in a natural water source. To wash yourself, your laundry or your dishes, carry water 200 feet away from streams or lakes and use small amounts of biodegradable soap (a little goes a long way). Then pour wastewater into a cat hole 6 to 8 inches deep.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nothing better for backpacking Dr. Bronners has been around since at least the early 60's. I keep a travel size bottle in my dop kit whenever I travel, and a large bottle at home for refilling. Prefer the Almond. As an avid hiker/backpacker, have never found anything this kind to the environment and equally versatile. It will literally clean anything: clothes, body, hair, dishes, pots/pans, shoes, packs, sunglasses, cuts an abrasions... Definitely my "go to" soap for hiking, travel and around the house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good all-around soap This is my all-time favorite soap. It works well, it's bio-degradable and the price is great. The travel sized bottle is perfect for the when you're on the road or keeping in your gym bag. The lid and squeezability of the bottle are a vast improvement to most travel sized bottles. I haven't tried using Dr. Bronner's in all 17 "magical" ways, but it's a great all-around soap. I usually use the peppermint soap, I love the tingly refreshing feeling you get when you use it. Just remember, a few drops goes a long way and watch out that you don't get it in your eye (the peppermint/eucalyptus/tea tree oil can sting). However, I wouldn't recommend using it to wash your hair- it leaves a waxy residue that doesn't rinse away.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unecesarily Dangerous Dangerous anywhere in bear country. To a bear this smells like food. Of course Dr Bronners makes a scentless version soap but REI inexplicably does not stock so you will have to buy it somewhere else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome soap Took this lavendar soap on a 10 day trek through the Peruvian Andes form Choquequirao to Machu Picchu...no showers for the first 3-4 days then only a snow melt river. Only a bowl full of boiled water each am and pm for another week. This soap made us feel fresh for the whole 10 day trek. Great smell...even washed some clothes with it. Will buy more!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it. I used the peppermint one to scrub my shower. It did an excellent job. My husband has a 50's greaser hair cut, and he said it was the only product to fully wash out his hair pomade. I love this stuff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good smell; natural all-purpose cleaner I like to use this for trail bathing. Just a drop or two on a wet washcloth makes for a refreshing field bath. Works well for camp kitchen clean up as well. I also like that it is all natural and biodegradable so I feel better about using it outdoors. We use Doc Bronner's at home for all sorts of cleaning -- this little bottle is cool; why buy an empty toiletry bottle and then fill at home for this price?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good stuff! I use this stuff all the time - not just in the back country. I LOVE it! Great soap. Nice that it's "green" but also works great!
