I am so excited about snow now!
I have always work my hiking boots (Merrells) thru' winter as I assumed they had better traction in the snow - they are ankle high and usually keep me warm, but sometimes snow sneaks in. I got these Bogs as a Christmas gift. Now now now, I have discovered what it really means to have warm, toasty, dry feet and lower legs. I love wearing these to shovel the snow, to walk around the neighborhood sleighing my kid, or even to parties/dinners this winter. I look forward to leaving the house in snow.
Awesome boots! Sizing is strange
I love these boots! They are easy to pull on, tall enough to keep most snow out, and warm. The only bummer is the sizing seems very strange. Normally I wear an 6.5. I ordered a 7 since there were no half sizes (which is a bummer) but I thought that would work for thicker winter socks. They are HUGE! So I ordered a 6 and they were so tight I had to return them. It feels like the 7 is more like an 8. I had to order Super Feet inserts in order for the boots to fit. I didn't even have to trim the SuperFeet inserts because the boots are so big when I normally trim them for all my running shoes. I'm glad the boots fit with the SuperFeet inserts. I'm not sure if there is just poor size quality control. I do have over-the-shoe gripers for icy conditions and those barely fit the boots because they are so much larger than my normal shoes.
No Half Sizes, No Luck
These could be wonderful, but since the half sizes are not an option it remains a mystery. The next size up was just too big (even with super thick socks) and I know going down wouldn't work.
A WINTER MUST HAVE
Incredibly warm. I’m not sure how they do it. It’s -8° and on my feet only had on thin socks and these Bogs. Stayed perfectly warm while walking around outside for 15 minutes.
