Great shoe, wrong sizing

It’s actually a great sneaker, the quality, design and colour are fantastic. A very stable shoe with great grip but the sizing is completely wrong, you have to go up at least half a size, I ordered online, my usual size in new balance and am now left with a small shoe which I can’t even run in. I would have given this shoe 5 stars but didn’t because of the sizing, it’s an expensive shoe and the sizing issue really needs to be emphasized prior to purchase.

No Pain - 8 Days Hiking in Iceland

I have so many problems with my feet. Specifically: heel spurs, plantar fascitis, and hallux limitus. I can not walk too many steps in a day without massive pain shooting through my feet. I went to a specialty shoe store and they recommended these shoes. I wore them all day while we were doing yardwork: no pain. We just got back from 8 days in Iceland. The weather was horrible. I walked 13,000-25,000 steps per day on all surfaces: sidewalks, loose gravel, sand, mild rock climbing, etc. I had not one bit of pain in my feet. AMAZING shoes. I would give them 10 out of 5 stars if I could.

Runs VERY narrow and small

I've been wearing X More trail for years. It was discontinued. Bought the Hierro in my normal size 6...too small, too narrow. Exchanged for 6.5 extra wide and the shoe is still too narrow in the toe box, too narrow on the instep/toe box height too low. I used to recommend NB Trail to everyone but not anymore.

Great for hallux rigidus feet

I love these shoes. Great for off trails. Nice cushioning on bottom. I have sore feet and hallux rigidus. These shoes make sure my feet don’t hurt and I can keep walking. Plus they are fashionable.

Great so far and TTS

For my first pair of trail runners, I’m impressed! I do trail hiking and site seeing (not running) and am breaking these in for an upcoming Europe trip in the Alps and city site seeing. These fit true to size. Very comfortable and cushioned with a lot of traction. A bit squeaky when walking on polished concrete or indoor surfaces, but it is subsiding the more I use them. Overall recommend, but have only walked about 10 miles in them so far.

Get Them!

I am very often not keen on writing reviews, but after purchasing three pairs for various members of our family (including myself) after a former competitor couldn’t provide what we needed for an upcoming vacation, I took a leap of faith with NB. In sum, I will never return to the competition. NB cross hiking/running shoe is a mainstay. Nobody complained… pretty colors, wide footbed, traditional support of NB we’ve come to know, expect and love, amazing traction for the rainforests trails of Costa Rica, light- easy to pack and clean. I am beyond thrilled with these shoes. Thank you NB for stretching your horizons and making an inclusive trail shoe. Our family is so appreciative! These shoes are higher (I love the cushion) and have robust traction (I love the grip), so it does require some coordination of picking up one’s feet conscientiously. 🤣

Disappointed!!!

Very disappointed with this hiking shoes from New Balance. The sizing runs smaller than other NB shoes I own, and I felt pain in my toes on the very first day of wearing them. Unfortunately, I can’t return them after wearing, so I’m stuck with shoes I don’t want to use. They just didn’t meet my needs.

Hands down one of the most comfortable trail shoes

I absolutely love these shoes. The cushioning is incredibly comfortable and supportive, making them perfect for long walks and trail runs. They feel stable, well-balanced, and protective without being stiff. The grip is excellent, and my feet feel supported even after hours of wear.

Hikers Dream

Absolutely LOVE these shoes! So multifaceted - I ran my first ever 15k in them and also hiked 4 days over the Milford track with them. Goretex waterproofing is incredible quality and the comfort is unmatched - don’t think I’ll be going back!

Comfortable but maybe tight with orthotics

Comfortable shoe and sole. The gusseted tongue makes it tight fitting with an orthotic. The foam sole is higher than I am used to sometimes making it unstable on uneven ground. Comfortable for long days on your feet though
