beautiful look but functionality not so much….
The look and feel of these pants are beautiful. In 40-50 degrees they are fine. Below 40, I was cold so am not positive I will keep them. I bought them to xc ski in, but I think they will be cold. As long as I am moving, i was ok, but if i were standing, the non insulated portion was no warmer than thin leggings. They are somewhat water resistant, but quickly soaked through in rain. So they would work only in very limited conditions. If they had insulated the back like the front and made truly water resistant even in rain, i would love them. The other concern is that there is no placket behind the zipper so i have inadvertently zipped my skin a few times….
Strange fit
The calves were incredibly tight and I even ordered a size up on this pant, the zipper constant pops up on the legs, They are pretty warm for those colder Alaska days however and have some cool graphics on the calf.
A gear snobs dream
Amazing. Since getting them I use them constantly for colder cross country classic mornings. Keeps my thighs warm as I go down hill with the insulation just in the front and I don’t chill on those 15 degree days. Allows good breathing and air flow in the back as I climb hills so I don’t sweat out. They flex and move with me perfectly. Never had a piece of winter clothing move so perfectly with me in a non restrictive, loose, yet still fitted way. Sizing is typical for being a norway brand and tends to run small by american standards (review size chart).
