Nikwax  Soft Shell Proof Spray

Spray it on your softshell products. I usually wash first with tech wash. I spray in the beginning of whatever season and additional spray when performance starts to lack. This will help the product for at least 4+ washes and multiple tsunami adventures. Don't be moist, unless it's in the heat of the moment.

I did a ton of research on DWR treatment products prior to buying this Nikwax product. Fortunately, I did way too much research ahead of time and had really great results - both with the spray on DWR and wash in products. What I found to be most helpful for me: 1. Make sure to read the Nikwax instructions thoroughly ahead of time. 2. Check out some online forums and/or Youtube videos ahead of time as well so that you can see exactly what you'll need to do. 3. Don't try to take any shortcuts. For example, when it comes to fully cleaning out your washing machine prior to use with a wash in product, make sure it has been thoroughly washed out. 4. Know that even if it doesn't work out the first go around, you can always clean your garments and re-apply as needed until you get it right.

A story. I love spring skiing. I hate sweating on the slopes. Light shells and sheddable layers are the order of the day. Which is great right up until the freak wind knifes you or unforcasted snow blankets you. Scenario two hit while I was riding up the lift wearing a light, stretchy marmot shell I'd recently treated with this softshell spray. The shell managed to sheet the moisture off and I stayed warm (-ish) and dry (not -ish). My softshells get an annual treatment.

Ease of application. Items I used this product on was my HH performance work pants and jacket. We’ve had quite the variety of weather recently and this product has helped keep me dry for a full shift outside in either snow or light rain. Anyone looking for an easy watering proofing product to apply I’d recommend this. I’m going to buy more to apply to other garments.

I used the wash-in Nikwax’s Softshell Proof before finally trying out this spray-on version this year. They both deliver the same amazing results — reviving breathability and vastly improving water resistance — but I find this spray-on easier and much faster to use. This product now has a permanent place in my laundry closet.

This brought my soft shell back to life by renewing the dwr coating. After several years of washing it was absorbing waste quickly, but this spray made water run off again. You need to apply it while still wet, then wait for it to dry, so it's not fast. Absolutely worth it though.

I caved and ordered a lot of Nikwax products to cover me for all types of needs. I don't regret it one bit! I'm very happy with the performance and I like knowing I'm covered in the future for other items.

I like the pump sprayer, I have been using rug wash for my horse blankets for years, this will be the first time using this product but all the others work great so I’m sure this will too!

Great product, easy to use and it simply works. One tip, you might want to wear gloves when you apply this waterproofer, it can be a little tricky to get off of your hands
