Goodbye Northface, Hello Cotopaxi!
Ive been an avid northface wearer my entire life. I would have multiple jackets that I would bounce around from throughtout the winter as the conditions changed. Thats all over now after finding the Salazo Down Parka. This thing can do it all in every condition. I remain just as warm in it with a T shirt as I did in my northface jackets all layered up. It held up to some of the harshest Vermont winter condtions this year and was a warm insulated oasis. Thank you !
Comfy and Good Fit
I was looking for a long time for a coat to fit my frame. I am just bigger than a medium, so I need a large. Large coats for me are usually far too loose around the mid section. This coat in a large fit me just right. I like the colors cotopaxi uses for their jackets and this one is deceptively warm based on bulkiness. The snugger fit keeps the warm in better. Also, materials are nice and soft against the skin. I highly recommend this brand.
Not for me
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited to receive the Solazo jacket but was disappointed in the fit and color of the black/iron color way. I ordered in the same size as my fuego and the solazo fit was super bulky. I did like the more durable fabric on the hood and sleeves as well as the draw strings on the hood but the jacket left much to be desired. Might be great for some but wasn’t for me so I returned.
High Quality and Beautiful Parka
I’m always impressed by Cotopaxi style and quality. This is at least the 5th coat I’ve ordered a the thickest to date. The coat is light, very well constructed, beautiful color and material and fits extremely well. I appreciate the design since parkas can often feel too thick and heavy. It’ll be a stable this winter and ready for a trip to the German alps.
Very warm and light
This is a warm and comfortable coat. It isn't made of thick material which means it's very flexible and lightweight, a bit of wind may come through the front zipper, also not the most water repellent fabric. It's most effective with another layer beneath. The hood is nicely made. Overall very warm and practical for the winter cold.
Stylish, stealthy, and toasty warm
I grabbed the charcoal / black edition of the Solazo in medium. It fits perfectly (I’m 6 feet, 165 lbs)l. It looks styled with almost anything. Better yet, it’s soft, snug, and envelops the wearer in downy, comfy, warmth. Like a slanket but without the embarrassment. Great product!!
Perfectly Warm
I was a bit concerned about the warmth factor before purchasing, but am very happy with the outcome. I’m not an avid skier, so I needed more of an everyday jacket that I could use for the once/twice a year I ski. This one’s it

The more fluffy jacket is super warm! It looks great and is just right out comfortable. The 20l bag is cool looking and very useful!!
