Study sandal, not worth the price for comfort.

I had high hopes of finding a comfortable, stable strapped sandal to wear instead of flip-flops. The sandal is well build and sturdy. It doesn't have a real comfortable cushion but it does feel padded. My major issue with this sandal is how uncomfortable it is on my toes, specifically my little toes. The strap is very uncomfortable when I have it tight and improves slightly when I loosen it. The size also runs on the small side. I had to return the original ones I bought for one size larger and the fit better. If it wasn't on clearance, I would have just returned them but I couldn't find any other options......yet.

Good Old Tevas

I bought a pair of Tevas at REI that lasted nearly 5 years, and instead of getting Tevas again, likely due to their cost, opted for beach flip flops the prior season. Unfortunately, I developed sciatica in my back, and have since switched back to Tevas which have granted immediate relief over the past week I have had this pair. I was hoping my Teva test, wearing the shoe consecutively for 7 days, would last longer than a week, but after a week I found it was time to take them off before showering after work today. The only soreness I noted was on both small toes, likely the strap anchors rubbing through the padding. This model has more settings for the sandal, back on the heel for running, normal set for walking or biking, and stay on your foot when you have them loose to relax your feet. With socks on the discomfort quickly fades. I probably could have lasted an entire summer with the pair on, if they didn’t have to come off to shower and put socks on. They still work wet, and don’t come off your feet, but comfort definitely decrease when you get them wet. I tried washing one to see if they come clean, which they do somewhat, but likely will not again unless they get extremely dirty. For the cost I paid, a 20 dollar rei coupon, and my dividend, they were definitely a great buy, but at 80, I feel you would be better off with their Hudson models. These could have been from 2010 as the soles look more primitive then my ‘older’ pair. One thing is for certain, Tevas run a size small, so a 12 is listed as an eleven. I likely would have never gotten this pair without having previously purchased Tevas. Ordering these online without knowing the correct sizing of Tevas, would have been all but impossible.
