[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Gerber Bushcraft Axes rubber comfort grip and deep reliefs on the hammer head make a great tool for any camping adventure measuring 26in and roughly 5lb. Great for splitting wood for campfires you can leave the axe in the camper year round or take on longer excursions. Some bonus features are the 102” of paracord and compartments for storing lighters or fire starting materials protected in a water resistant compartment at the end of the handle. Lastly, the sheath is secured by a velco strap and has an eyelet to hang the axe from a hook in your storage cabinet or garage.

He had the biggest smile. It has some weight to it but he didn’t seem to mind. The storage compartments that it comes with are extremely nifty! It could hold matches or lighters perfectly and comes with paracord string inside. It isn’t sharpened so you do need to do that yourself which was fine for him, he loves sharpening his own tools. It has a convenient case that goes over the axe head which is perfect for keeping it safely tucked away and once the case is secure you can hand it up out of the way. I was thrilled that he liked it so much!

It’s a very easy to bring around with the size of it. It weighs about 7lbs which will make it easy for you to carry. As far as safety, it comes with a cover for the tip of the axe. You’d have to cover it up and Velcro it down so it won’t falll off.

I will also take this camping if I know I will be needing firewood. The weight is evenly distributed throughout the entire axe, which helps reduce fatigue while increasing efficiency of your cuts. Nice sharp blade with a thick durable cover for protection when not in use. The long handle means it's obviously not compact in length, but it feels very ergonomic to hold and allows for deeper cuts at a variety of angles. I believe this will hold up excellent and would recommend it to others.

I was absolutely thrilled when I saw the offer and immediately signed up for it. My husband is always very particular about his choices—he never skimps on anything he plans to use. When he saw this axe, he was so excited and couldn’t wait to use it) It fits perfectly into his set of tools, and now preparing firewood for the winter season is so much easier. You can always tell when something is well-made—from the design and materials to the sheer pleasure of using it. The set includes a convenient blade cover, and there’s also a compartment in the handle for storing a lighter or matches (fire-starting tools). There’s a rope attached, and it’s great that it’s waterproof. The axe is quite heavy, but the weight is perfectly balanced, exactly where it should be.
