Are you Down to stay dry?
It's so cool how Down Wash Direct is specifically made for down insulated garments and sleeping bags. It not only cleans the outer shell material, but also the actual feathers of the down insulation as well. Down Wash will really help any existing DWR on the shell material. If your jacket isn't waterproof, you can treat it with Down Proof. Nikwax Down Proof treats the down insulation helping it repel moisture and dry faster while also adding DWR finish to the shell material. So glad REI sells the proof in addition to the wash now! The only really laborious part is that you will likely need to run several cycles to complete dry your gear. Tennis balls are a must!
Just gave it my first try
Made the mistake of wearing my Fjallraven Down hoodie under my Shell and took it kayaking to see the bioluminescence in Tomales bay and got soaked in salt water. This wash got all the salt out of the fabric and brought back the softness as well as added some needed water protection. Will continue to use as well as try some of their other products out.

Great product to renew waterproof coating on down.
works great on down jackets and renews the waterproof functionality
the ONLY Down wash
Honestly, This is the ONLY thing I use to wash my down. Make sure your washer is clean, so this honestly gives your washer the well needed attention you dont already give it. Make sure when drying to use wool balls and beat up the clumps of down that will happen and make sure you cycle it until its fluffy and back to OG condition. now you have a fresh jacket, clean washer, and a slightly water resistant down jacket, you shouldn't get them wet to begin with but here we are
