Picked this up today. It is the Original 2 Cup set just a little bigger. It’s perfect. It’s exactly what I was looking for. More space to work with so you don’t spill it as easily. Thank you, Stanley, for making the bottom of the pot slimer. This pot nests into the Ozark Trails 18oz stainless steel cup from Walmart. Just like the original one does. The only difference is you can’t fit the scrubbing pad between them. It’s a perfect fit. Other items for size comparison. The pot is now wide enough to fit the 40oz Kleen Kanteen nested inside it. You can also still nest one of the cups and a 110 g can like the original one does. Looking forward to taking this out and putting it to work.
I like that this set fits down into my $6 stainless Walmart cup better than the older set did. However, the handle didn’t lock down tightly over the lid when folded. There was about a 1/4” gap that actually allowed the lid to slip out from under it. I had to bend the handle down so it would hold the lid in place when folded. I shouldn’t have had to do that.
This Stanley set is well built and practical. It is lightweight and compact, with a decent amount of storage space inside as well for seasonings, matches, etc. It heats water quickly, and is stable on my small stove. With its well designed lid handle, it is easy to safely remove the lid while hot. The handle is easy to lock and unlock, and is well balanced for pouring hot liquids. The cups are comfortable to hold, and well insulated. Surprisingly for plastic cups, I do not notice any plastic taste when drinking hot liquids. I could imagine taking this set up for backpacking trips, or maybe even to put in my SAR pack for emergency hot liquids. The one small thing I would change, is that there are volume measurements imprinted on the pot which is great. However they are meant to be read on the outside of the pot, which doesn't make sense. They should be printed so that they are read from the inside of the pot, where you can see the water line. Not really a problem, just have to read it backwards from the inside! Huge bonus is the color combo is spot on!
This is a perfect size for 1-2 people. I like how the pot handle flips over the lid to hold everything together for traveling. I don't have to worry about losing a little bag. The straining holes on the lid were super helpful since I make noodles a lot when I'm backpacking. The rubber tab on the lid handle allows me to hold the lid in place to strain my noodles without getting burned. The measurements are easy to read even when pouring boiling water I love the insulated mugs. No burned hands. I was able to fit an entire ramen packet of cooked noodles in one mug. I do wish there was an option for 1 large mug for bigger meals. The steel is a little heavier than a titanium pot, but this seems more versatile. I've used this for both camping and travel with ease.
Great nesting product with multiple uses. The pot is made well, strong, sturdy and holds plenty of liquid (or whatever is in it). I love that it has the measurement lines on the outside and inside of the pot. This helps to make a more exact measure. The handle stays in place when fully extended and pouring out any item(s) in it. The cups fit well in the pot and can be handled when a hot item is in them. I like that the lid has a silicone piece on it so it can be lifted by hand. This makes it easier to check on what's going on inside the pot. I did have a little trouble extending (or unextending) the handle but, that's a minor issue. There's even room to add some smaller items.
Great compact cooking set. I really appreciate the internal measurements although they are a little difficult to read in low light, but better than nothing. The pot itself retains heat mainly over the heat source so the entire pot doesn't get scorching hot like many other pots. I would like the lid to be a little more secure when storing, however this is fairly easily remedied with proper handle placement. The cups that come with it can be used on there own for just about anything as well. Overall a great product that stands up to the name.
The Stanley Wildfare Go Two Cup Cookset is a well-crafted, versatile option for outdoor cooking. This 4-piece set features a 32 oz stainless steel pot with a fold-and-lock handle, a vented lid, and two 10 oz insulated cups. While fairly light, it's heavier than some alternatives. The cups excel at keeping drinks at temperature without getting hot on the outside, even with scalding liquids. A minor drawback is that a fuel canister can't fit inside when both cups are used, but for solo trips, it packs neatly with one cup. Overall, it's a durable and functional choice for campers and hikers.
This little cookset by Stanley is super compact, lightweight and functional. The double-wall insulated cups keep contents nice and warm. Liquid pours well from the pot. Strain holes can be used for a safe, controlled pour. I love the pot’s sturdy, locking handle and versatile lid. My only complaint is that, due to the narrow base and tall, cylindrical shape, our water was slow to boil. If you don’t mind burning through some extra fuel, this is a great set.
This is a nice nesting pot for boiling water for drinks and more. The lid is slotted for quick straining and draining of the water. I tend to make backpacking meals of the pasta variety and this did well with simple ramen. Mostly I think I will use it mostly for coffee, teas and soups based on the nesting cups on the inside. It is not big, and I will probably only use it to boil water really. The cook surface is small, so no big meals or fancy cooking. Boils water about the same rate as other similar products I have owned. Muliple uses so far and this thing hasn’t shown any warping or twisting under the heat. Small rocket burner fits into package, but not fuel. If you remove one cup, a small 100g canister fits inside. It is going to be a great little cookset for snowshoeing and XC skiing day trips where I like to make a little warm-me-up drink at the halfway point. Design is nice. It has mL and Cup measurements on the outside, topping out at 3 cups. Everything folds up pretty small and nested. The handle is nice with the sliding lock to hold it in place. The lid is a strainer. The BPA-free nested cups are a nice size and won’t burn your hands when held. The shape makes it really easy to be classy by keeping “pinkies up.” They fit into hands well. At the time I received this and looking online, the price is fair with what you receive.
I received this product for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. I really like this cook set. It fits well in my pack, the handle keeps everything from spilling out when packed. It can hold a small fuel canister inside or a small stove. It pours well and I love that the measurements are easy to read. The cons? I feel that the cups are too heavy for backpacking, so I won't be using them. I also wish there was an insulation sleeve to keep water hot on cold weather hikes. Otherwise, this is a great item and I plan on using it a lot in the future.
