I have found these to be extremely comfortable, warm, stable, with great traction. I would size up 1/2 for heavy socks, and the tendency of Salomon to be somewhat narrow. I have a 10.5 wide version of a Salomon boot I love, but it seems like the only wide versions they want to make are black. I've worn countless Salomon's over the years and they are just more narrow in the toe box than they used to be. Above 40 degrees or around the house they are probably too warm, but that is not what I bought them for.
I wore these boots for a month. Quite warm and comfortable. The size was perfect.
These are great for winter hiking &/or snowshoeing. They are comfortable enough to walk around town in & do really good in harsh winter conditions on the mountain. Micro spikes fit well around the shoe.
I've owned 4 different pairs of salomon shoes and been happy with all of them. I wear a 10.5 in every shoe and so I ordered the same in this boot. Two things: 1) the color is not even close to the photo on the website. It's ugly. 2) the boots run REALLY small, like a half to a full size small. Something you can't tell from the website is how wide they look. They aren't a normal size and look comical when I put them on. Pretty bummed.
I've been using these boots now for a few weeks here in Wisconsin and am quite pleased with them. They are a great transitional weather boot. I have Mortons Nuroma so I need a roomy, well supported shoe and these fit the bill. Though when I'm out in wet soggy conditions all day my feet do get wettish, or damp, but I've never had a boot that didn't. They are true to size, running true with all other Solomon footwear I've had.
This was a replacement shoe for a defective pair of hiking shoes. I needed something for winter, so these fit the bill. I bought a one-half size larger based on my experience with my other Salomon shoe. Fits well and is perfect for my need. The colour of the shoe does not match the photo. The actual colour is a light shade; more yellow than brown.
Nice looking boots, and fit my quite wide feet nicely. The loop at the back helps pull them on, but is a bit bigger than ideal. They are indeed fairly warm, but I haven't yet got to test properly their waterproofness - and importantly, whether they remain waterproof after a few months.
I purchased these for a recent 9 day birding trip to northern Minnesota, where temperatures ranged from -23°F to 18°F and they did not disappoint. Not only was the comfort and fit as good as my other Salomons, but they kept my feet warm and dry for the duration.
I bought the Outchil as a winter boot to fish in the cooler weather. Great product. Light weight. The toe box was a little tighter than the 4WD boots that I routinely wear. I recommend upsizing 1/2 to 1 full size.
Really comfortable and warm, i ordered 11.5, it felt a little tight since i wear thicker socks for winter... so i've just ordered 12 for a better fit! I'd recommend getting .5 bigger than usual fit!
