Warm and Comfortable, Power not Included

Received free product

I used this product both outdoors while camping and also inside my vehicle. It heats up very quickly, probably in less than a minute, and was a good size and very comfortable. In addition, I couldn't feel the heating element when sitting on the pad. It definitely kept me warmer when I was sitting outside at night on a camping trip where the low temperatures were in the 30s. Using the 60 degree setting and a battery with 19,200mAh capacity, I still had a little less than half the battery life after using about 2 hours for 2 nights of camping. The main reason why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that the product does not come with a battery or any way to power the pad. It has USB-C and 12V connection options, so a power bank or car adapter with one of these connections is needed and would be an additional expense if you do not already own one.

Ignik BACKSIDE HEATED SEAT - meh

Received free product

I was initially very excited to receive the Ignik Backside Heated Seat because I have an older Toyota truck and thought it would be great to have for my seat during the winters. I tried it in the vehicle about 3x; Perhaps I read the instructions incorrectly initially but I couldn’t get it to charge. I discovered that it won’t charge using a regular 12v cigarette lighter charger plug with a USB or USB-C input nor will it charge if you plug the USB-C plug into a wall charger. Something I didn’t realize until more thorough testing (and a re-reading of the directions) is that it will only charge with additional accessories, i.e. a 5.5 mm barrel car charger (~$15) or a 20v 2.0A (minimum) USB-C input power bank (~$30 - $150 for the one they recommend). This is unclear as the directions picture it being able to be plugged into the car charger. It’s all well and good if you have one or both but I feel like that puts the costs of this seat warmer at the low end to be $115 or at the high-end around $220. Either one feels like too much to me, especially if you wanted to bring this into a stadium as you might not be able to bring a power bank. Oh, and in case anyone is interested the draw of the heated seat is between 20 – 24 watts. It worked fine when plugged directly into the wall, but who needs it when inside?

Great accessory for outdoor adventures

Received free product

I received this product for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. This item will make a great addition to chilly outdoor adventures, given you have a compatible power source such as as power brick with a USB-C port. Provides enough warmth to keep you comfortable, but does not emit an overly powerful heat source; this was tested on a 45° night with other proper layering pieces. The pad fits comfortably in my Jeep Wrangler seating; an addition of a non-slip underside would help to keep pad in place. The power cord is long enough to keep out of the way and has a super easy to use power/temp control unit. Would recommend for additional comfort to any adventure as it packs light.

Toasty warm - good for certain situations

Received free product

I mainly have used this product for outdoors during cool weather camping. It does heat up very quickly, and is overall portable and comfortable. It kept me pretty warm while I was around a fire in mid-30s F weather on a recent mountain biking trip. Unfortunately I did not check the exact specs on my power pack (BioLite 80 PD); I did know that this pack was a 12V output but the power draw required for the pad is higher than my power pack could handle. The pad worked for a while but eventually my power pack stopped functioning and had to be replaced completely - so double check your power pack specs for compatibility!! With that, I only feel this pad is worth it if you already have a power pack available with the capability; personally I have no use for the 12V car plug-in as my vehicle has heated seats already. It’s very light, but doesn’t fold or roll up easily either but I could definitely see this being helpful if you watch a lot of sports or go camping in the fall. I’m not sure if many stadiums would allow you to bring this in along with a power bank, so would also need to check that. Overall I would only recommend for very specific use cases.

Perfect for fall sports.

Received free product

This seat warmer is pretty good. Warms up fast and lasts about 6-8 hours on a 20,000 mAh battery based on the first several uses. Really like the control panel and how it works and displays the temperature setting. Wish that the seat warmer came with some sort of carry case or rolled up a little better. Only thing I’d complain about is the price, it seems slightly overpriced.

We miss our heated car seats and these come in handy. Also beats going through hot hands in the camp chair. I received these products for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review.

Warms you up

Received free product

This little pad makes a nice addition to a well stocked outdoor gear junkie's collection. If you're someone who spends any prolonged period of time outside in cool weather, this seat pad it for you! It's great for watching soccer games, cross country meets, tailgating, camping, and even as a car seat heater if your car doesn't offer that luxury. It's lightweight an easy to use. I used it with a traditional plug in an outlet as well as a portable charger. Just be advised that your portable charger needs to have a strong enough power capacity.
