Why a bad review just because your feet don't fit?
Charlene

I'm at a loss to understand why people leave one star reviews because a shoe didn't fit their unique feet correctly. It's not a problem with the product, and because we all have unique feet, a review like that does not help anyone else with fit. Oboz are great shoes. Review whether they hold up, and no review if you don't use them.

Heel pops out

This is my fist pair of Oboz. The fit is great until I take a step and my heel moves away from the bed of the shoe. I have to return them otherwise I’m heading for blister city. Really disappointed...

Lightweight and rugged

I love these shoes! Lightweight (which is what compelled me to buy them) and great traction treads. They keep the bottoms of my feet free from soreness (I usually wear a lightweight wool hiking sock) and protected on rocky terrain over long distances (typical hike 8 miles 1700’ elevation gain, rocky terrain) Sizing and width is true to size. I’ve owned these shoes for a full season and do not regret the purchase. They are my first choice shoe for summer day hiking. Laces are great too, easy to tie, stay tight, rarely come untied. Although the oboz insert is better than most shoes, I do use a SOLE insert, which makes the fit a bit more snug but the upper material of the shoe gives where needed.

Runner's knot makes this perfect

These are awesome, lightweight hiking shoes. People have been complaining about the heel lifting up -- I had that phenomenon too but another reviewer recommended a runner's knot which made this shoe perfect for me. I'm done with waterproof (read: hot and unbreathable) and bulky hiking shoes (I'm just a casual hiker). These also look great, can pass as a sneaker. I tramped all over the Amalfi coast in these (i.e. many many stairs and beautiful hikes) and felt great the whole time. No blisters or sores.

Great waterproof shoe for walking the dog at park

This is my second pair of Oboz -- I have a hiking shoe that I LOVE and then bought this pair to walk my dog at the park since he loves to walk all over the dew-studded grass and my other non-waterproof shoes would leave my feet wet and cold. Perfect fit from day one and waterproof material kept my feet dry! The only issue is that after about 9 months I noticed a crack on the material above my toes, which now lets the moisture in. Bummer -- ergo 4 stars versus 5. I didn't return the shoe because I love them so much but now that it has been a year, my feet get wet every time that I wear them. Not sure if this is a manufacturing defect or whether it's normal wear and tear? I'll consult REI and see whether it's returnable or whether I should buy a replacement pair.

Returned for bad fit

This is a great shoe, if all you're doing is standing. I have a normally rounded heel, but these shoes have a very straight heel so at each step the shoe pulls away from the heel of my foot. It feels like the shoe is coming off and would lead to blisters. Otherwise I love the feel of the shoe, and they're cool looking. Seem to be super waterproof. But sadly I have to return them because they don't seem to be made for my foot or for walking.

Great except for the heel

I'm an oboz fan and the design of these was enticing (especially the tread). Unfortunately, the oboz team should have built the heel up 1/2 inch to an inch higher; the shoe size fits well, but as soon as you take a step, your heel lifts up. This was consistent for my mom, my sister, and myself. Otherwise it's a great shoe if that isn't the case for you!

Waterproof, sturdy and incredibly comfortable

No need to break in these super comfortable hiking shoes. Great treads, mudproof and waterproof - no leaks after a long muddy slog in the woods. I also wear them daily for walking my dog as the treads and waterproof nature prove very versatile. Have I mentioned how comfortable they are? Cushiony soft!

Too loose in the heels

Oboz hiking boots are my go to, so I really wanted these shoes to work. Unfortunately like other reviewers they were loose in the heels. I wander if changes made to the laces or lace up that would help?

waterproof

Unfortunately these shoes ride on the heels. I have tried them several times, but unfortunately they cause blisters on my heal. I am disappointed as they look great and are very waterproof.
