Disappointed, extremely slow return
The other reviews are correct. The return is very slow. I added a bit of bike grease per the instructions that come with the post and it still returns very slow. It was better initially, but has become worse over the few short weeks I've had it. Even when pulling the seat the up with significant force, it doesn't give and slowly crawls up. I don't need a dropper. Just replacing the stock post from my Aventon Abound for extra height (6'4") and the 150 at max extension is perfect. But if I'm paying to have a dropper I'd like it to at least mostly work. Might return and look for telescopic suspension setup instead, as that might be more valuable than even a functional dropper.
Great quality, smooth great product.
In my opinion the dropper is of very good quality and at a much competitive price. At least I got it at a discount. The dropper works perfectly to my mountain bike. Just a simple push to the level and goes down quickly and smoothly enough to stop when you need then also comes back up fairly quick and does not have the problems I have read for some about not being a quick back up. Actually the smoothness makes it easy to calibrate where you wants the seat go even while riding, because with your weight you can decide where to stop it. I think that is an excellent dropper at almost half price of others (when discounted because I would not spend so much on a simple dropper) and does a better job than most of them.
Great value but really slow return
I was looking for a really inexpensive lever-actuated dropper post for my e-cargo bike and this one fit the bill in terms of price. Great value, but the return of the post back to its fully extended position is S-L-O-W. It's funny they call this the "Speed Up" because there's not much fast about this post! You have to hold the lever up the entire time, so combined with the slow return speed, one of your hands is off the bars for quite a while. Depending on the terrain you ride on and your experience/skill level riding with one hand, the slow return may or may not be a problem. My skills are solid and the bike this post is on only gets ridden on pavement, so it's not that big of an issue. But for a less experienced rider trying to actuate the dropper while holder the lever with one hand on more technical terrain could present some problems. With that being said, it gets the job done for what I'm using it for. I wanted a bit more leg extension on the cargo bike I run errands on, but wanted to be able to comfortably put a foot down at traffic lights/signs...I also didn't want to spend $125 or more on a dropper either. Is this post fine for my application? Yes. Would I put this particular post on my mountain or gravel bike? No. I have a Tranz X Jump Seat lever dropper post on one of my gravel bikes that proved to be hard to fit with a traditional remote dropper and it's fantastic...but it was also twice the price. If the return speed could be remedied on this post, I'd give it 5 stars and recommend to a friend.
Simple Dropper Post
I was looking for a simple dropper for a city bike to more easily swing my leg over the saddle when mounting. I found it in this unit with the trigger beneath the saddle. One other advantage is that since this bike does not have internal routing for a dropper, I avoided that altogether. Simple is good!
Fantastic budget dropper post
I'm very happy with the performance of the ExaForm Dropper Post. I have it set up on an electric cargo bike that my wife and I both use so that we can do away with constantly adjusting the seat height when changing riders. It works great for this use case.
works perfectly for what i need
i share a bike with my girlfriend and this is perfect for that. it has infinite drop ability so its not just up or down. i am now tempted to take her bike on the trails since i can get her seat out of the way. its an awesome alternative to a traditional dropper if you dont have the ability to add one or want an easy installe. definitely wouldn't want it on my main trail bike but i didnt get it for that. if you are new to mtb'ing though and just want to be able to move your seat easily this is a great choice
Tried all Three
I first bought the 175 size because I wanted the most travel, but failing to realize it was too long for my seat tube being non traditional (Trek Fuel EX). Followed up trying the 150 and 100 travel sizes. It was close but in the end went with the 100 for closest use; if they made the 31.6x125 in my size that would have been best for my frame and 6’ height.
