Temperature ratings are intended as a guideline to help you compare products, rather than a guarantee of warmth, since many different factors contribute to your comfort while you sleep. Backpacking bags are typically rated for temperature according to an independent testing protocol—currently International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 23537, though some older items followed European Norm (EN) 13537. Testing is based on a person wearing one base layer and a pair of socks, sleeping on an insulated surface with a minimum R-value of 5.38.

Each bag then gets 2 ratings: the Comfort rating is the lowest temperature at which the bag will keep the average "cold sleeper" comfortable, and the Lower Limit rating is the lowest temperature at which the bag will keep the average "warm sleeper" comfortable. Some brands determine their own temperature rating by aligning to the Comfort rating for women’s bags, to the Lower Limit rating for men’s bags, or somewhere in the middle for nongendered bags.

Great down sleeping bag

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the Coleman - PEAK1 20F LONG RDS SLEEPING BAG BLACK a few weeks ago. It is awesome. The bag has a spot to hold your sleeping pad in place, nice lofty down, great mummy shape, and is water repellent. I was not sure how this bag would rank against other big name outdoor companies but I am glad to say it is an awesome value with a killer product. If you are looking for a new bag, give this one a shot.

Super Comfy & Durable!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My family go camping very often and have used tons of sleeping bags. NONE & I mean none of our sleeping backs comes even remotely close to this one. 1.) It's super comfy 2.) It's waterproof 3.) Extremely durable 4.) Keeps you super warm and cozy This is amongst several perks of this sleeping bag. Upon pulling it out it seems as though its rather on the smaller side. Oh No, It's so light weight & compact it appears that way. It fits perfectly in your camping bag. This is an excellent option for a sleeping bag! I highly recommend it for those that are in the colder weather and need a durable, waterproof, Comfy & keeps you super warm and cozy all night long!

Unbeatable quality and design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The detail and design quality of this sleeping bag is really impressive. It’s super lightweight, but also incredibly warm. I love that the zipper has been designed not to snag, and that the smooth fabric allows you to move without having the sleeping bag drag, twist or bunch while you sleep. Size-wise, it works well for both me and my husband, and we are 5’5” and 6’2”, respectively. Details like water resistance, eco-friendly materials, and the interior pocket for keeping your phone and wallet close make me feel this bag was designed for those who love the outdoors, and who love to camp. This is a high quality, versatile and rugged option for staying warm while traveling light.

Durable Sleeping Bag

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This sleeping bag is made really well, really durable. It protects you from all different weather conditions when camping wind, rain, coldness, exc. I'm 6'1 and it covers me really well with room to spear. The material is really soft and comfortable and made really well, it's guaranteed to last. I'd really recommend this bag not just for camping but to have on hand for all situations.

MADE TO MOVE

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve loved taking this sleeping bag car camping and backpacking! No-snag zipper, baffle at neck, well-shaped footbox and hood, draft tube - it all comes together to give this sleeping bag one of the best warmth-to-weight ratios available. It’s constructed with recycled, durable 20D nylon ripstop which is comfortable, breathable, wind/water resistant, and I find it’s durable enough for most backcountry use. The interior fabric is slippery, which makes it easy to move around and shift positions without getting all twisted up in the bag. If you’re in search of warmth, lightweight loft, and water repellent shell, soft, 605-fill certified duck down insulation makes this sleeping bag a great choice for 3-season camping and staying cozy.

Love This Sleeping Bag!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Under normal circumstances, I am stomach and side sleeper. I was a little concerned about the “sleep-ability” of this PEAK1 20°F Mummy Sleeping Bag. But I actually really like it! I used it for camping and it kept me warm all night. I am never really comfortable when camping... but I was pretty comfortable in this sleeping bag. It seems to be very durable, and I like the water-repellent shell. I like how lightweight it is, which makes it so easy to travel with. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a first-rate sleeping bag.

Keeps you warm

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first mummy style sleeping bag and it’s very nice. It fits my 6’ frame well and the fill will keep you very warm. I only have the sleeping bag for now, but it is part of a system where you can attach the sleeping pad directly to the bag so you don’t slide off of it. The bag has room inside, but if you are a side sleeper, you won’t be able to turn in the bag, but you would need to turn with the bag. It comes with a bag that lets you cinch down to a high degree. I think it’s a great bag for colder weather or backpacking.

Exceeds my expectations for a nice restful night!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My family and I like to go camping and needed something like this that is not only longer for my tall husband but one that distributes heat evenly to keep you nice and warm! This sleeping bag is well designed and made to sleep in during colder temperature. It is not heavy and easy to roll up which I like. I also loved when I was sleeping in it that it does not feel clunky on me or the material weighs me down on top of I have found in some sleeping bags. I am going to get more for my whole family!

Best Sleeping Bag there is!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm an avid camper so I love that I have the best sleeping bag there is. It really does hold its heat without getting too stuffy inside. Top tier comfort and holds it's shape no matter how much I move around (which is a lot!). I especially love how compact it folds down and the quality of the materials down to the zipper. Super lightweight as well. I had my friend try it out as well when we hiked in her neck of the woods in BC Canada. Highly reccommend!
