Very effective and strong tripod
Just got back from Philmont. Very very useful for quick setup and takedown. Every once and a while I would like to have a real chair but I can also it on the ground and lean on my pack. This was lightweight, easy to carry, and is very strong. I also rigged up a rope to loop around my pole to make a DIY back support.

Try before you buy
The materials used in this stool are excellent quality! The whole stool is extremely light weight, which would be easy to carry around. I am giving it two stars only because of the structural design. The stool is extremely wobbly, enough to easily wooble with my hand. This is because of the center plastic bracket and six poles. The poles fit loosely, which causes a lot of play in each of the six poles. I could have gotten a defect, because one of the poles fits kind of tight and the other 5 are loose. I feel like it would have been better to have 3 long poles and sacrifice the compact or make a more precise bracket.

I'm fat, it's a little wobbly, but it still works.

It is a little wobbly, but it holds up. I am a 230 lb photographer that does a lot of outdoor work and backpacking. It is light versatile and I can still rely on it in the interior of Alaska. I have found it really useful for ice fishing, backpacking, and exposure shots of the Northern lights. Especially when temperatures can get down to the extreme negatives it lets me sit next to my camera without getting too cold.

More compact than I expected

One feature I didn't realize online is that this stool folds in half as well as collapsing. It's very compact. It would easily tie onto the bottom of a pack. And it's so light. It's fairly stable but, being so light, it feels a bit like I'll need to take care not to break it. I'm an urban sketcher. I got this stool thinking I wouldn't fly with it, but now I'm taking it along.

Me and my stool

This collapsible stool is quite handy for camping, backpacking, or just hiking or walking. It folds up and can fit in my knock around backpack for my papers or water bottle. If I make a stop I can sit on the stool.

Great item to pack for trips

Excellent item to bring for travel. Folds up extremely compact and is exceedingly light (half pound or so). Setup is quick and it is very sturdy and unobtrusive if you need to use it while waiting in line.

Great for tall people

Tried this out when a fellow backpacker brought it along on a 5 day trip. I liked the stool a lot more than the Flexlite Air Chair. At 6'4" and 235 the chair was very low and not as comfortable as the stool. I did not notice it wigging under my weight or any looseness in the assembly. I'll definitely pick up a stool in the future!

Light comfortable stool.

I wanted a simple stool to fit inside my small under the weather sports tent. No fuss, no problems. Many camp chairs have too big a footprint. They are a pain to lug around too.

GOAT

I was looking for either a stool or chair for hiking and hunting and narrowed this down to the finalist after looking at the REI, Big Agnes and Helionox offerings. I have this 5 stars because it is light, very quick to set up and not too low of a seat height. The only thing that could make this better would be if it had a back. I kept this in the external water bottle pocket of my MR and it was the perfect thing for taking a quick break, eating lunch etc.
