Removable liner bunches in toe. Zipper difficult
I never used these outside, just trying out winter boots. These were the first Korkers pair I tried. It has an inner liner that was removable, which wasn't shown in the pictures of the boot on the Korkerks site, but was mentioned in the description. I found it seemed to bunched up at the toe a little bit, making the toes feel cramped. I also found the zipper very difficult to use, even inside in a dry and warm environment. I did like these were a bit taller than the Snowmageddon ones, which also have fluff on the ankle that is likely to grab snow and not look so great so quickly. For comfort and on/off ease and closing the boot, Snowmageddon is way better.
Some goods, some not so goods :)
All in all, the boot is quite comfortable. Pros: I love that the liner comes out if to dry easier if they get damp. I love the height and flexible ankle for walking. I love the replaceable sole to make it ice worthy, etc. Slight hard pull to get the sole off, but not too difficult (and thankfully not too easy that it will come off). Cons: I am a pretty solid size 8 and the boot length was probably fine, but as another reviewer mentioned, the removable liner makes the boot feel tight/full/squished in the toes and needs more room, even though I only had a medium weight merino wool sock on. Tight boots are not warm boots. Also the zipper was difficult to zip when sitting, but when I stood and the sole compressed down a bit, it was easier/more room in the foot to zip up, but the tab almost needs to be longer for grip, especially with glove or cold hands. Sole is a little stiff. I like them enough that I will be trading them in for a bigger size, but without half sizes, I hope the size 9 is not too big!
GREAT BOOT - for a 6 y/o foot
I started with a 9 having read reviews saying to size up. Then ordered a 10 when the 9 was WAY too small. TBH I cannot see any difference in size between the two! I think this is a great boot (removable liner, yay) with what looks like good traction and the *brilliant* idea for interchangeable soles (if you could find them...?) but the best boot in the world does you no good if it doesn't fit. According to the size info the 9 should have fit. It was sooo tight, I immediately ordered a 10. TBH I can see very little difference between the two, and, based on how the liner was crammed into the boot, I suspect the last person to try them on felt the same.
Sizing up won't help with poorly designed insert
After reading other reviews, I chose to size up. As it turns out, the boot doesn't run small, but the liner is overly small for the boot, and the shape does not account for toes. I could not get my foot comfortably inside the boot with the liner in and walk around. I was able to get the insert on with toes squished together, but unable to walk comfortably in the boot this way. Without the liner, the boot is roomy, boxy and really almost to big, as I'd expect for a size 9 boot when I normally where a size 8.5.
Runs REALLY small
Based on online feedback I ordered a size up. I wear a 7.5 in most sandals, an 8 in tennies and 8 - 8.5 in hikers/boots. I have a high instep, and could barely zip these with a thin tennis shoe sock on. They were also quite short. I am returning the 9s and ordered a 10 to try. They seem pretty well made, and I love the idea of a removable liner, and the base seems pretty study with a decent tread.
chunky and small, but appear well made
Sizing runs quite small, and are a bit chunky for what I expected so ended up returning. The grip seemed like it'd be great, however only tested around the house, and the material felt like high quality
Great fit and finish.
Great fit and finish. Size runs a little small so ordered 1 size larger
