Bought these for another hiking trip out to Colorado Rockies, super comfortable and had good gripping ability on the rocky trail, very flexible and kept my feet cool & dry. 5 ⭐️ out of 5 ⭐️!👍
I previously had the Terradora 2, which I found comfortable. The base of the Flex is much more narrow than the 2, and the inside has a lot more loose room around the foot. I'm actually in the process of returning them now. The picture I attached shows the difference between my 2s versus the Flex, which is the one with the more narrow base (same size).
After watching the video on the Keen website, I was ready to love these “designed for women” hiking boots. They just were not comfortable, no arch support and kinda ugly. Good flex feature, fit and waterproof. More like sneakers than hiking boots, so that might work for some. Liked the Timberwolf better.
These are far and away the most comfortable shoes. The day I bought them I wore them to hike around all of the debris on the beach in Santa Cruz and Aptos/Sea cliff after this winters’ storms destruction along the coast. And trail hiked this weekend with no issues. No blisters. Feet, ankles, knees, all felt great. I want ALL my shoes to be this immediately comfortable.
Bought these based on a similar purchase I made several years ago. I love the ones I have. The new shoes were the same size, but too short for my feet. The materials used to make the new shoes appeared cheaper, thinner and of lesser quality than the pair I already own. Based on these issues, I returned them to Keen. While this particular pair/style wasn’t to my preference, I have seen other new styles of Keen shoes that appear to have the same high quality of of shoes that I own. I would suggest shopping for various styles and being careful to buy the better quality products.
I'm happy to have these new lightweight hiking boots, and that they're flexible and waterproof! The laces are great, no need to double-knot. What I'm not happy with is the structure of the front of the boot. It's different from other Keens I've owned. It feels like it's trying to correct my foot, or something like that, so that my foot will point forward. It makes it fit more tightly than expected. I've loosened the laces on the top of the boot, and have worn them several times this week. I hope to get used to them soon.
they are true to size and not as wide in the toe box as my other Keens but that's fine because I do have a more narrow foot. The laces are too long - typical of the hiking boots I have had in the past. I have found this pair to be the least comfortable of my many pairs of Keens I have owned. They feel like hard plastic on the bottom and not flexible. They will do the job because I need lighter weight waterproof shoes for work but won't take these on long hikes. I'll have to search for a different hiking shoe.
I really love the feel of these boots! They have the perfect amount of support, without feeling too stiff around the ankles, and the insides really feel like I'm wearing sneakers. The grip on these was great - I was able to trek across loose gravel, muddy paths, and climbed moderate to hard inclines with ease. Waterproofing was solid without my feet getting too hot from the material. For sizing reference, I have a relatively high arch but normal width, and I usually wear an 8 in sneakers (Nikes, Converse, Vans) and a 7 1/2 in leisure shoes (Reefs, Birkenstocks) but felt the most comfortable in a size 8 with the laces properly tied. I use hiking socks with light cushion and I had just the right amount of space by the toe area, making the downhill parts of my hike much more comfortable.
I've put maybe 40 miles so far on these boots and am super pleased! Never needed to be broken in they have been very comfortable from the get-go and light weight. Waded through streams no issues with water leaking in. My only wish is that the shoe laces were a little bit thicker but they stay tied great compared to others. I love that these boots as well have technology in the toe box to help them bend easily.
I was looking for a lightweight mid-height boot that would give me a roomy toe box, ankle and arch support, and, most important, resilience walking up and down steep paved roads. The arch support is light, but I can add a hefty Keen orthotic if necessary. In every other respective the boot is perfect. And, as we head into what we're hoping is a wet coastal California winter, the boots are also water-proof.
