Sizing Notes
Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements. Some women's pants are available in petite and tall sizes. Typically petite sizes fit women 4'11" to 5'3". Regular sizes fit women 5'4" to 5'8". Tall sizes fit women 5'9" to 5'11".
PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and ¾ inch shorter in total rise.
TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

Warm and Comfortable
One of my favorite REI purchases. Very warm and comfortable while being thin enough to layer over or under. The inside of the back and arms is a thin “grid” fleece which appears to breathe really well. Wore a T-shirt underneath and was very comfortable standing around in 40 degrees F weather. 5’4”-128lbs-32DDD, the size small fits perfectly.
Not as nice as last years!
If I’d never owned last years version of this top, I would probably love this one. The inside fleece is not as soft, the thumbholes are a downgrade from the foldover cuffs and the little zippered pocket is missing in this version. The plusses are the new kangaroo style pocket and at least the turtleneck didn’t change. I love that feature. I also am not a fan of the rei logo on the chest. I liked it much better on the bottom. Please bring back the old version!! Also how about one in black?? Or a bright color for running?? The orange in this current model is much darker and more of a burnt orange than what the website shows.
In-between Average & Good
I’ve had these for a couple months. This is a great layer for running and nordic skiing - but not if you’re going to come into contact with anything that might snag the front wind blocking fabric. It will pull one thread and create a weird run. I’ll also echo the remarks about zero stretch in the neck. I purchased the XS & S and both are difficult to pull over my average sized dome. Winter? Static? Hair going everywhere! Hilarious. But also just difficult to don and doff while sweating. It is functional and cozy. But holy cow that neck hole is tiiiiiight! Sleeves are a great length in both sizes and I say this as a person with long arms.
I’m simply OBSESSED!
Needed some warm running layers for fall/winter and ordered this pullover on a whim because it was on sale. It only took one cold morning wearing this for me to decide that this is my new favorite piece of clothing! I’m still trying to figure out how something that folds up so tiny can keep me so cozy on windy/freezing runs and I can’t wait to wear this on warmer spring ski days and camping all summer. I really like the kangaroo pocket and love how stretchy the material is. I’m 5’2” ~110lbs and ordered the XS and S and ended up keeping the S because I like the more relaxed fit.
New favorite mid layer base layer
Just purchased this and used it for hiking/climbing in 50 degree and sunny weather. It was perfect. It is extremely comfortable. The sleeves are long enough (I'm long limbed - and often many brands do not make sleeves long enough for me to use the thumb holes, but I can on this one). It is soft and was warm enough for a mid-layer. Getting the layer on over my head is pretty snug - but that does not bother me. Once on, the neck area is not adjustable but fits well - it isn't too tight around my neck and helps keep me warmer with that detail. Runs true to size. I ordered a Medium and am 5'8 and 145 lbs.
Comfy and elegant
Liked it in the store, loved it even more at home. Pretty colors (though a bit seasonal with things like pumpkin and dark teal) ~ would looove a black one for more diverse use. Smartly designed and fits true to size. Sleeves are a little overly long (they come out past my whole hand), but despite that, it's a light enough fabric that scrunching it back onto my wrist isn't bulky or uncomfortable. It's a great, lightweight, "take the chill out of the air" layer and I'm looking forward to this item sticking around long enough for more colors to become available (and potentially replacements down the road!). I especially love the collar and windbreaker-ish front panel. REI knocked it out of the park with this one! :)
Almost perfect
I love just about everything this shirt offers; the cozy fit, the kangaroo pocket and the right amount of insulation. Oh and great colors. My only complaint is the neck! I love the mock neck as I have short hair but there's no stretch to it and it's really hard to get on and off. For a midlayer I want the ability to take it off without wrestling myself (not to mention the hairdo afterwards) Please add a snap or button on the side - maybe a zipper but only if it has the fabric covering the top to make it soft and hide it. Looking forward to an upgrade!
My Go to Base
I bought this shirt as a base layer. I am an extra sweaty person and I get overheated in my front area and this is just the type of shirt I was looking for. After a few years of traveling/hiking I have gotten to know my body and what material works for me. Sometimes wool gets too stuffy and some material is too thin. I took this pullover on a trip to Colorado and it has so far been a perfect layer with a tank or tee underneath. It maintained my body temperature really well on long walks and I think it will be perfect for my winter hikes. The material is also great under my arms where sweat accumulates, most material holds the sweat and I can feel the dampness but I didn't notice in this one.
Great sweater
This is a must to keep warm while camping. Loved it and also great while hiking in cooler weather. Great for layering.
Excellent Running Midlayer
Bought this for winter running, and it's amazing! As mentioned in other reviews, the front panel blocks wind and keeps your core warm, while the non-insulated back helps wick moisture and regulate temperature. It's definitely worn best as a mid or outer layer, though, with a full-coverage wicking layer underneath. With direct skin contact, the insulating layer soaks sweat and gets real cold real fast. My mom bought one for herself as a casual hang around the house layer, and she absolutely loves it. So - great for work and play!
