Incredibly comfortable

I bought these on a whim (this is the first review?!). Very glad I did - they're light, comfortable, stuff doesn't fall out of the pockets, the lining allows you to wear underwear or go commando without drawbacks to either. More or less perfect shorts

Not worth the price at all

Quality of material is okay, but the craftsmanship terrible. Case in point, the drawstring does not stay tight and the shorts will sag, even with light items or nothing in the pocket. Good shorts will somewhat stay in place even without using the draw string due to natural tension in the waist band. These barely have any natural tension. Rip off. Go to another brand for this kind of money.

Smartwool? More like Junkwool, amiright? (ugh)

I have been wearing Smartwool products for 10+ years. I have been wearing 2 in 1 running shorts for 10+ years. Seeing that Smartwool was making 2 in 1 running shorts seemed like a no brainer for me. I wore these a total of 5 - 6 times. Washing delicately and air drying. I expected to get, you know, a year or at least a season of use out of these (my first smartwool base layer is still going strong more than a decade later). I was very surprised to find the crotch falling apart after so few miles -- maybe 35 miles of running? I have much cheaper shorts that have gone 1000+ miles. I guess I'm still a fan boy but smartwool really missed the assignment on these.

Good shorts, bad lining = uncomfortable

These fit well and l enjoyed them generally. However, the interior liner frayed and disappeared fast. They're now only a year old and really uncomfortable to wear, because the lining is all jacked up.

So so

Impressed by the functionality and cut of these shorts. However, regrettably, after a mere week of usage, I have detected the disheartening occurrence of fraying on the overlocking of both the front and bottom seams.

My Go To Shorts for Running and Working Out

The most comfortable shorts I own. I absolutely love that I don't need to use boxers as these have high quality and comfortable built in liners. They look and fit great. I am 6 feet tall and 170 pounds and the medium sized shorts fit perfectly. The back pocket has a zipper which is handy. The front pockets are large enough to hold your wallet or phone. I do wish the front pockets had zippers. Overall, I am very happy with these shorts.

Cool shorts, different from others I've owned

"Black composite" color looks blue and gray on the website picture, but in person it's purely gray and black. Fit is pretty comfortable but rides low on the hips for me. 6'5, athletic 215lb, wearing L. Could potentially fix it by tying the string tighter but there isn't much elastic in the waist.

My favorite shorts

This is the third pair of these shorts I own. They are my favorite shorts for hiking, running, or just lounging around the house. I would highly recommend trying them out.
