Inferior cooler with premium look and price
I can see this being ok for certain things, but at this price point, I expect much more. To be fair, I overland and used an ARB zero fridge but had sold it and was waiting for the ecoflow glacier but wouldn't be in for the weekend mini trip. Thought it would be nice to have a side cooler when I couldnt take the fridge but this is not made for Colorado summer mountain camping. Packed with sealed ice that melted in under 6 hrs. Zippers awkward, shape takes loses capacity just to be oval, and got quickly returned. I'm not saying it's not ok for some people; it might, but you can also get something much less and better performing at Walmart. Waste of space in the market and rei should know better. I'm pretty passionate about not liking it.
Strap broke on first use
We literally picked it up and the plastic clip for the long strap broke. Cooler was 2/3 full. Really nice design, doesn’t leak, everything else about it seems sturdy, except the plastic clip. Besides that, almost exactly what I was looking for.
Excellent!
I was looking for a new cooler as my old one broke on its last camping trip. I had a road trip from eastern TN to northwestern AR and needed a cooler for my dog's food (he eats a fresh food diet so the food comes frozen and needs to remain so). After doing a ton of research, going into several stores to look at the coolers, and talking to a very helpful REI staff member, I decided upon a soft-sided cooler, specifically the RovR TravelR. Best decision ever as I love this cooler! It kept everything frozen for the 30 hours. The ice packs were still semi-frozen by the time I reached my destination, and the food packs were hard as rocks. The cooler is a bit heavy, but as I use it for road trips and car camping, I'm not carrying it very far so it's not a big deal; I'll take the weight for such a great product. Bonus in that the TravelR is really attractive, I got several compliments on it.
Perfect for road trip or wine tasting!
Fit 5 days of bkftst/lunch/snacks perfect for 2 ppl, use frozen waters as ice and drink as melts. Then had room to add the wine we bought on our way home :-) Fits 10 bottles wine without any ice, could fit 6-8 with ice pack and snacks in center. Easy to carry in and out of car.
Cool Cooler
Perfect size for road trips & picnics. I like the graphics. It's really $$ but, I hope it'll last forever.
