I got these for family hikes and disc golf. So maybe not entirely the intended use. But they fell apart so quickly and so completely, I can’t imagine them being a great choice for any outdoor activities. At first I was really happy with them - comfy, roomy in the toe box, nice looking. But the “waterproofing” was useless within days, and within a few months (probably 7-10mi/week), holes started appearing in the upper at the pinky knuckle. After 6 months, more holes forming at other spots. At this point they’re just kinda shredded, and I doubt I’ve put 150 miles on them (the soles and tread are still fine). Seems like the design of the upper is just inherently flawed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are quite simply the most comfortable shoes of any kind I have ever worn. This is partly because of how well they happen to fit the contours of my feet, but I'm convinced that's not all. There's something about the design and cushioning materials that just makes them incredibly comfortable and supportive, on just about any surface. And, I say this as a long time Hoka wearer and fan. They're also extremely light weight and water resistant. I just ordered my second pair (even though I'm not yet done with my first) and I anticipate I'll be buying them as long as they make them. One final note: I rarely, if ever, write product reviews. These are just that good.
This is my second pair of these. The first carried me through many multi day backpacking trips in North Cascade and Glacier NPs, the Mission range, Mt. Rainier, and all over Idaho. They took a pair of snow shoes like a pro, and kept my feet dry in mud and slush. Fantastic grip, and the curved sole propels you forward. I have flat and narrow feet and Hokkas, Altras, and Solomons don’t work for me. I didn’t really expect them to last for more than a year, and they didn’t. The uppers held up fairly well, but the tread wasn’t going to perform well for a second year. If they keep making them, I’ll keep buying them.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I took these on my trip to Africa to climb Mt Kilimanjaro & I was Amazed on their performance. They held to loose gravel wet rock, slippery mud & all other situations I was in. I believe they out performed every other shoe that was in my group of 13 that climbed with me. I gave them away to the porters that needed them more than i & I told myself I'd go back to the states & buy another. pair!! They are Amazing!!!!! Dave R.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these for a recent trip to Ireland, not only for the looks but also because they are waterproof and seemed breathable. They did not disappoint! I switched out the orange laces with black to go more with travel attire, but was able to wear them with jeans and dress pants, looked great. Importantly they feel and felt great the entire trip, on streets, cobble walks, climbing rocks and walking around castles. I had been in PT for plantar fasciitis with definite pain and after two weeks of so much walking and hiking in Ireland I never felt any pain, just comfort and also very grippy and stable. Amazingly we didnt see much rain, but plan to really test out the waterproofness in New England.
I loved this shoe for the first 17 months of ownership. They helped me hike out of the Grand Canyon and are very comfortable. BUT...suddenly the inners are fraying. I'm not wearing these that often, as I'm ,mostly a paved path or road walker and wear my Brooks Ghosts for that. The bottoms are still almost like new, so there is clearly a manufacturing issue with this show. So disappointed to make this report.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Spent years hiking and tennis shoes. My wife got a pair, and convinced me they were too wonderful not to get a pair as well. From day one perfect.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife bought a pair and loved them so I purchased a pair as well. Same experience that she had! Great from day one!
