First impression: Runs large
Yes , I recommend this product
New product so giving a first impression on sizing, not a performance review. I am returning to downsize. I wear a size 9 or Euro 42.5. Size 9 in the Verto are too big for me. Before I even put them on I thought...huh, they look big. Previous approach shoes for me...LaSportiva Boulders (42.5) and Salewa's (9) have been true to size with the Boulders even being too snug in the toe box for my foot. I can kick my toe to the front of these size 9s and have room to slide my finger between the shoe and back of heel. Note that the Verto Euro size as listed in the shoe for the 9's is a 42 2/3 which makes them a larger than standard 9 = 42.5 which I am used to. Hope this helps slow down the number of returns!

Downsize recommended
Follow up to size review. After returning these and downsizing a half size (9 to 8.5), I returned them again as they were still too big. They are light and generally comfortable, but if you want an approach shoe that is snug but not tight, you may want to downsize a full size.

Finally an approach shoe that fits my wider foot. Really comfortable and great traction. Enough underfoot for long days without losing connection to the ground and rock. Simple and well done.

No, I do not recommend this product
Sticky rubber, check. Good fit, check. comfortable, check issue - the sole is too soft and comfortable vs la sportiva and scarpa. you need a stiffer sole for proper approach shoes. i dont' regret having these but i do envy the other brands approach for their sole stiffness. climbed Grand Teton in these and my feet were exhuasted due to overflexing in the climb up.

Do not recommend sizing down like others have stated if these are primarily a hiking/walking shoe. Sized down to a 9.5 and got multiple blisters. Went with my usual 10 and they feel great. Wider than most approach shoes, but more narrow than a traditional hiking shoe. Very grippy sole that seems to be holding up well.

These shoes were my son’s second choice but fit better than the other approach shoes we ordered. They performed well without breaking in on trails. We have not tried them for climbing yet. The shoe laces were rather short unfortunately making it difficult to double knot so came loose more often than we’d like.
