Great for camping and walking the dog!
Received free product
As a Scouting parent, I have gone through many headlamps. This headlamp has three levels (high-medium-low) and there is no "pulsing flash" like others I have used (which I do not like for camping but would be good for bike riding at dusk). The lamp pivots (I needed two hands) so you can adjust the focus of the light when the terrain changes. I also loved it while walking the dog -- one less item to carry on our early-morning walks. For me, it was not easy to wear over or under a hat because I had to adjust the strap too often. The brightness is excellent and the highest strength is shown in the photos.

New Tikkina flops
The new Tikkina is a very disappointing replacement of the previous model that was perfect in all respects. The new model is very hard open to replace the batteries. It also feels cheap.

Bright, but less features

Received free product

The light on this has three settings and is very bright. This is essentially all of its functionality. This headlamp comes with many different options. After researching this brand, this headlamp comes with many less features than other options. Other features that are NOT included in this headlamp: The storage bag that turns into a lantern, red light, CORE rechargeable battery, whistle, and the night glow ring. Quality: the strap feels great. The on/off button feels great. The swivel feels cheap and fragile. The battery compartment is difficult to open and feels cheap and fragile. This will probably be used as a back up headlamp. In an effort to elongate the life span of batteries, I always turn one around so that an electrical current is interrupted. With how fragile and difficult the battery compartment is on this headlamp, I wouldn't want to mess with the batteries very frequently.

Probably Going to Work Fine

Just picked this up and found opening the battery compartment to be challenging. It felt like I was going to break it just using my fingers so I used a prying device to open it. Hopefully when I need to open it on the go the lid does not break! Also, the video shows that this comes with a storage bag that allows it to function more like a lamp. There was no storage bag in the box. I don't care really, likely would have lost that right away, but still it is misleading information. I assume the lamp itself will perform well, as have all other Petzl's I have used previously.

Unreasonably difficult to change batteries

With this new design, it is unreasonably, maddeningly difficult to install or change the batteries in the Petzl Tikkina headlamp. I kept one of the three I ordered and have tried opening and closing it over and over to see if it gets better. It does not. I use these headlamps constantly, so I NEED to be able to open the battery hatch to change batteries fairly frequently. I give up - I am sending two of them back.

Great customer service

Great customer service. One of the plastic buckles on my strap broke after a couple of years of use so I contacted the company. They had me mail the headlamp to them and promptly repaired it at no cost.

Petzl headlamps failed after minimal use

Purchased two of these Petzl headlamps. Both failed within the first year of use. Would not turn on. And yes, I tried new batteries.

Terrible battery compartment, no lock mode

Very disappointing headlamp from Petzl. I almost split the skin on my thumb opening the battery compartment, and that was in the warmth of my kitchen. Also, it never occurred to me that Petzl would sell a headlamp in 2023 that doesn’t have a lock mode; this one doesn’t. It’s going back to REI.

Small but mighty. And rechargeable!

Received free product

Being able to use two battery sources in this one lamp is great. And the light width is great. I use it while camping but needed it to help find a missing earring in the yard! Petzl for the win

Buzzing

When turned on the first (lowest) setting headlamp buzzes. Battery cover doesn't feel very sturdy. Returning it.
