I have been purchasing the Kinvara models since the "11" when I went back to semi-serious running, and this is my 6th purchase in the series. The reason I like the Kinvara models is that they are incredibly light yet offer very good support. They also fit me extremely well, often a problem when I am purchasing running shoes; the standard width is a little wider than most, but not too wide. Running in the Kinvara 13 (like its predecessors) is like running on air, great for an aging runner with hip and knee issues. The 13 is the best so far, with improved feel from the 11 and 12 in terms of fit and comfort. I use my older Kinvaras as casual multi-purpose shoes.
So glad you love this style Steve! Thanks for being a loyal Saucony customer and for the 5-Stars. Run for good!
I have worn Kinvaras since the 6’s and without fail, every 3 years the toe box gets so tight they are almost impossible to wear. I always end up buying a pair when they first release, I love how they feel on the road, but the toe box determines whether I will buy another pair that year. The 12s were great, a little tight but manageable. The 13s are horrible for the toe box, everything else is great. I really wish I could return them because these are by far the worst yet. Of note, I will still buy the 14s because Saucony is one of the best quality companies out. If you have narrow feet, these are 100% for you.
Excellent and very comfortable shoe for me! Love the fit, light weight, simplicity, foot feedback, and flexibility these offer. I use these for light running, lots of walking, daily stretches and workout, (I use the Endorphins for heavier running, but these shoes would be excellent for racing). Kinvara 13 appears to be of high quality, and color choices are fantastic - and I have several pairs. They run just slightly smaller and narrower than some of the other Saucony models, but my typical shoe size works well for these as the fit is really perfect for my feet. These shoes fit and feel like comfortable gloves - which is the way it should be!
For the price point and the style, this model delivers. I’ve ran in the Kinvara 12 to prep for a marathon, and no issues - even on long days. I do have a history of running in high school, including a stint trying to go barefoot, and I will say that these shoes can be a bit demanding on your feet if you’re logging multiple long runs without a more cushioned shoe in the rotation. However, the 5-star review is deserved by this model and the 13 as well. Out of the box it felt like the same shoe. The upper mesh feels a bit more plush, and I preferred the Kinvara 12 tongue. Between the 12 and 13, I’d snag a 12 but find this to be a well-done rendition.
I'm a forefoot runner, and have struggled with higher stack shoes always fighting my natural gait too much. I bought these a few days ago, and the first test I gave them was my first half marathon. They didn't disappoint, they are flexible and comfortable with my usual gait, and if I fatigued a bit I could alter my gait, and my footstrike, without the shoes fighting me. Not one blister, or even hot soles, which usually happens on higher distance with most shoes. If you run on your forefoot. And are thinking of trying a more minimal shoe, give these a try!
Ive had triumph 17' for the past couple years which are incredibly comfortable so when it came time to get another pair and the all black triumphs were sold out, i decided to switch up within saucony. i read really good reviews for the Kinvara so purchased my first pair. Honesty, upon putting them on i was immediately disappointed. The fit is smaller than the triumphs and the overally shoe is just not as comfortable. I am trying to get use to them but the moment i have the chance to order an all black triumph 17 ill be switching back. My recommendation to future purchasers of this shoe is to order a half size up from your regular size.
I have ran in Saucony shoes almost exclusively since 2004, bought my first pair of Sauconys(Fast Twitch)two days before running the Boston marathon, loved the feel of them and wore them for the marathon. Ran several marathons in the Fast Twitch model before switching to the Kinvaras. I have completed The Last Annual Vol State 314 mile road race twice and Last Annual Heart of the South (327 miles) all while wearing Saucony Kinvara shoes. Considering these races are held in Tennessee in June and July the Kinvaras served me excellent. Looking forward to next years LAVS or HOTS and already planning on having another pair of the Saucony Kinvara shoes ready for the journey.
I’ve worn multiple pairs of the Kinvara 13s. They are by far my favorite running shoe, they just are the perfect fit/balance for a running/training shoe. My drawback is, the glue connected the sole is just weak. So is the fabric mesh on the side of the shoe. If I do any workout on a track, or when it’s wet or after it’s wet. a.) the sole slips around. Or b.) out of the 5 pairs I’ve bought, 3 of them have ripped (in the side mesh portion ) during a workout. All of which the pairs only had about 150 miles of light running on them. Saucony do you have an answer? Thank you for this awesome shoe!
Love these shoes! They have good balance of support, cushioning and responsiveness. My training is a mix between indoor and outdoor and have been great for both so far. I also use them for my speed workout and longer runs. The sizing was a bit on the bigger side and I ended up sizing down for these shoes. Very happy with them.
Great shoe but the tongue on this pink color way is basically a shin guard, it’s so long! I have the orange color and it has a normal sized tongue but for some reason the pink ones have a very long tongue witch can be bother some.
