I keep it in my 🚗 car in the 🥶 winter in case I need it!
I bought this in May of 2022 because it was on sale but I was skeptical because it had 0 reviews! After using it on a 2 week road trip through Oregon, California, and Nevada, numerous trips to the Tetons and Zion NP, I absolutely love this bag! It is quite big for backpacking so it's definitely more of a camping bag but it's still pretty good. I worn a thick Patagonia fleece and sweats with leggings underneath them when camping in the cold Tetons and I never had a problem with the cold. I even ended up peeling off layers at night because the layers weren't necessary in the 15-20°. The zipper worked perfectly and never had any problems. I am 5'9" and got the tall and definitely recommend anyone of this height or taller get the tall, I would not have wanted it any shorter. For the price, I love this bag and will not be getting a new one anytime soon.
My girlfriend gets really cold at night and slept very comfortably in our tent while on our trip throughout Northern Arizona and Utah. Near the north rim of the Grand Canyon one night, the temperature dropped into the 30s and she slept without any issues. She is roughly 5 foot 9 inches and fit into the sleeping bag quite comfortably.
I have not had an opportunity to use this sleeping bag in cold temperatures yet, but there is much to be impressed by. I've been using a 30 degree REI sleeping bag for several years, and I was pleased that this newer model is just as well made. The fabric is soft and durable, and protection from the cold is readily apparent. I'm 5'10" and there is plenty of room at the foot. The only thing I'm unsure of is this bag is narrower than my last REI bag. Won't know the answer to comfort until I can spend the night in it. I tried to use it in 50 degree temps, but it was too warm for this temperature. Blue color is lovely. Inside color is far more green than it is grey.
Bought this and had to return it after my first trip with it. The sleeping bag is huge and so much bigger than the images listed. Not at all a backpacking sleeping bag due to size. The fill is very stiff and not at all pliable. Feels very cheap for what it is. Save a little bit more and get a nicer bag
Got this for my wife on a deep discount, so for the price I paid I can’t say anything bad about it at all! It’s a great bag! But in the context of its retail price I give it 4 stars. Pros: - neck baffle - large anti-snag zipper - good material…no less than what you’d expect from REI -comes with both stuff sack and storage sack - nicely shaped foot box - good warmth-to-weight ratio Area for improvement: As other reviews have noted, it’s marketed as a “backpacking” bag but I dunno: it is a little bulky for backpacking. I’d say this is better suited for car camping or very short backpacking trips because this thing could eat up all the space in your backpack. Again, for the price and the warmth-to-bulk ration, it’s excellent. Just don’t get it thinking you’ll be getting an ultra-light backpacking bag.
I haven't tested this sleeping bag in really cold temperatures yet, as I received it prior to the cold season, however, upon trying it out it feels very comfortable and warm. It is stored in a big sack so it can breathe, and it comes with a smaller stuff sack for trips. I am excited to try it out this winter.
Not as compact as I wanted , I was looking for something that rolls up smaller
Did not fit me. The width at the shoulders was too small so the bag would have been impossible to zipped up.The draft collar was too low. I would have needed a neck like a giraffe if I didn't want the top of the bag to go over my head with it in place. The toe box was very roomy and nice. I returned it before trying it so I've no idea about the adequacy of the temperature rating. It does come with a nice storage bag as well as a stuff sack. I did NOT try putting it in the stuff sack so have no idea if it actually would have fit in it or not. I also don't remember looking at it to see if I thought it would be waterproof enough to carry hitched on a pack thru a rain storm. It came in the storage bag which seemed more than an adequate size and breathable.
I bought this because I liked that it was recycled materials. I like the feel of the bag- it's plenty warm and cozy! I'd recommend it.
