Phenominally useful, fun to ride
We’ve had such a blast using our Boost over the past several weeks. We added a high rail, foot platforms, and pads to the back to give our 5 year old a comfortable place to ride. I also recently added a Benno bag to use as a “trunk” for carrying a couple bags of groceries - the “front tray” bag works really well in the back, too. My daughter loves riding with me and I am quickly becoming addicted to having a little assist on my rides. The Bosch motor is exactly what I hoped for. I still want to get some exercise while riding, so I wasn’t interested in a bike with a throttle. The assist motor only works when you’re pedaling, but you can easily adjust the settings for little or lots of assistance. I’ve gone up 10%+ grades easily and can also work up a sweat when I want. I’m about 6’ tall and my partner is 5’1”. The step through frame works for both of us, though admittedly a little better for me. The seat needs to go just a little lower to be perfect for her. It’s a heavy bike, especially with a 40lb kid on the back, but we can both handle it. The components on Benno bikes were one reason why I chose this bike. Hydrolic brakes and a solid drivetrain, not to mention the Bosch motor, make the bike feel very solid. The lights are very bright, though I’ve added another flashing light to the back. We purchased our Benno Boost to experiment with replacing our second car. After only a month if feels like a total success, making it easy to pick our kid up from school or run errands whenever we want. I’m convinced it’ll be easier and cheaper to use a ride share or rent a car on the rare cases when we absolutely need a second car. I love the flexibility and capability from this bike!
Perfect car replacement.
I used a grant from the Clean Cars for All Program to purchase this bike. It has radically changed my life for the better. It is wicked powerful and a blast to ride. I routinely carry large loads of cargo and adult sized passengers. People often compliment the looks of the bike, it's so handsome!
