Multi-use great travel backpack
This bag is the size of a small personal item but can fit a lot of clothes. I use a dry sac to fit all my clothes for 3 day journeys and I can fit all my clothes, a pair of shoes, 3 books, toiletries, and a laptop with charger... and my 32oz can attach to the front or can store on the side pocket. I love the look of this backpack. I have the black on and it's great for bringing it to a coffee shop to work on my computer or bringing it on the plain. I can wear it with professional clothes or casual clothes. A great product!!!
The Backpack I've Been Looking For
The Border 18 is the backpack I've been looking for for years. As a professor, researcher, and frequent traveller, I wanted an everyday backpack that was minimalist and understated, well-built (without looking like a hiking pack), had a robust back panel and straps, just the right amounts of organization, and was the right size for either a day on campus or a day in a foreign city. This definitely fits the bill. 18L is perfect for this, I wouldn't go any larger. I've looked at lots of other bags from Bellroy, Osprey, Timbuk2, TopoDesign--you name it, I've tried it. This one is the best one I've found by far. Thanks, Gregory!
My Everyday Pack
When i first got this pack, i was not sure how much i was going to be able to fit in it. So i placed my camera (Canon 5D) in the bag and it fit great. So, i tried to fit my 15" Macbook Pro and it fit with ease. There was still tons of room for a hammock, water bottle and some snacks. Maybe even a long sleeve. This has honestly become my favorite pack. It's such a low profile bag and extremely functional. Its perfect to take to a small photoshoot where i dont need my whole camera bag with extra lenses. Also, ideal for commuting downtown or going on a short hike. The pockets are on point. My favorite is the front slit on the side. Never had that on a pack before and i use it all the time. They thought of everything on this bag and i'm stoked on it. 10/10 would buy again!
Got me through 3 days in Vegas!
I recently took a work trip to Las Vegas. Checked my tool bag and wanted to keep my carry-on to a minimum. I took my border 18 which I just got and another small sling pack. I was able to fit a change of clothes, socks and underwear, a Bluetooth speaker and toiletries in the border. 18. I also had a packable rain poncho just in case as well as a battery bank for my electronics. I fit my chargers and cables in the small top pocket. I really like this pack. I also own a. Gregory Praxus 65 which I recently took on a longer trip to Canada for work. That pack is awesome! And I just ordered the Border carry-on 40 which I think will help me find that perfect. Middle ground. I'm a recent Gregory user and I have to say, I really like these packs. They look great And they are very good quality.
Great Pack for Travel
Very well-designed backpack that fits well and packs quite a bit into the bag. I got it for my wife to replace her older backpack. It should serve her well for years to come. It's designed to be used with air travel in mind (fitting under the seat, having a carry handle on two sides) and packs quite efficiently. I've bought Gregory in the past because they design good packs - this one is a different model than the one I'd purchased before (Miwok), and I can say I'm just as impressed with this one as I was with the other.
Fit my requirements perfectly and performed just great
Bought this pack to act as a carry on and supplement my main suitcase on a 2 week+ trip to Europe. It was just what I had hoped and no shortcomings. Things that stood out 1) the dual carry handles - top and side- were a plus 2) the 2 zipper pulls on each of the 2 main compartments could be intertwined and this reduced the risk of any " light fingered" unauthorized access when carrying the pack through crowded train stations or subways 3) the luggage handle pass through 4 ) 2 small quick access panels particularly the top one that offered quick access to earbuds, a pen etc . Size was more than adequate to carry a change of clothes ( should my suitcase be misdirected) , electronics, toilet kit etc with room to spare. Nicely padded shoulder straps and several connection points for small clip on items. Very well thought out pack.
Solid Bag
I’d consider myself sort of a backpack expert. By that I mean I’ve spent way more money on backpacks than I need to. I should probably have a dedicated review channel at this point. Anyway. Solid pack. Comfortable, seems durable (6 months I’ve had). 1 large pocket. 1 laptop slot. A side/front pocket. And one small one on the top. Overall really nothing I’d change. In fact it looks like they’re discontinuing this which is an absolute shame if that’s the case. It doesn’t have too much of the garbage interior dividers that every single manufacturer assumes people want. I do not need spots to put a pen. Or 7 tiny compartments for dimes and quarters. Only thing I guess I’d request is lighter interior color to contrast the black would be cool. I would recommend this pack as a daily commuter. Maybe an overnight in a hotel or day hike on a trail but nothing much more.
Border 18 - Excellent for Everyday
It’s difficult to shop online sometimes. I studied the reviews before purchasing. I own a Gregory backpack for backpacking, so I new the quality of the product already. Without a doubt, the Border 18 is the perfect everyday pack for me. It holds all my essentials for work and travel carry on bag. It looks great and well-designed.
Awesome & Stylish Bakpack!!
I've now used this backpack for a week-long business trip, a weekend getaway to wine country and a day hike with a picnic, and this backpack was awesome for all 3 trips! Plenty of room for everything and I knew my electronics would be safe. Can't wait to use the Border 18 for a week in Colombia!!
This is the daily go-to. Best day pack I've owned.
I had the Border 35 and loved it. It was a bit big for a daily traveler, and I got the border 18 as a gift. This has been the bag I don't go anywhere without. Fits loads in a small bag and everything is easily accessible. If you need a bag that's versatile and looks great, pick it up, ya dingus.
